Nokia 5800 XpressMusic shipments reach 1 million milestone

Nokia announced today that it has shipped the millionth
Nokia 5800 XpressMusic device.
The latest in Nokia's XpressMusic range, the Nokia 5800
XpressMusic is the company's first mass market touch
screen device.
Following its introduction in October 2008, the Nokia 5800
XpressMusic has seen successful sales starts in a number
of markets, including Hong Kong and Moscow where the
device sold out within hours of the sales start.

Nokia’s Flagship store Regent Street
Queue of 150 had been forming since the
evening before.
First 200 buyers were treated to extra gifts: a
bundle of three films from Futureshorts and some
free music-based apps.
First 100 buyers also got tickets to the giant
music festival Benicassim in Spain, which is a
neat tie-in to the music capabilities of the phone.

Paris Hilton, the blonde heiress shimmied down
to the launch of the Nokia 5800 handset at
London’s trendy Punk nightclub.
The hilarious Keith Lemon, VV Brown and Mutya
Buena were among the guests who flocked to
Soho’s Punk nightclub for the high-profile launch
of the Nokia 5800, which involved some serious
dance routines!
Jodie Harsh threatened a dance-off with Britain’s
Got Talent winner George Sampson, and Keith
Lemon also gave a rendition of his Michael
Jackson-style moves.

Nokia 5800 XM Launch – Hong Kong 29 th November

The city welcomed Nokia 5800 with a dazzling celebration held at the Watermark in Central.
The stage came alive with presence of celebrity idols and top-notch DJs. The crowd also
witnessed a superb demonstration of this complete entertainment device Nokia 5800.
Handsets completely sold out within hours of doors opening.

Nokia 5800 XM Launch – Russia 26 th November
Moscow Flagship Store sold out its entire inventory in a
record 30 minutes. An additional 900 people added their
names to the waiting list.
Buyers, some of whom had camped in line for days, crowded
the Flagship Store to hit store shelves. At sales start on
Wednesday November 26th there was a queue of over 150
people. Some anxious buyers even offered bribes to people
in queue to get the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic first.
One of the bloggers said, looking at the queue in Moscow
Flagship Store: "Do we have economic crisis or not? I did not
understand."

Nokia India today announced the availability
of its much awaited “Touch Music” device, the
Nokia 5800 XpressMusic in West India. The
latest offering from Nokia was launched in
Mumbai by Bollywood’s reigning queen,
Priyanka Chopra. Priyanka also became the
proud owner of the first Nokia 5800
XpressMusic in Mumbai.
