DESCRIPTION A one component urethane alkyd lacquer containing UV-protective agent.<br />

TECHNICAL DATA<br />
The paint does not contain free formaldehyde and after drying it does not emit<br />
formaldehyde to the environment.<br />
♦ Excellent resistance to abrasion.<br />
♦ Excellent resistance to all ordinary cleaning detergents, SFS 3755.<br />
♦ Good resistance to solvents: gasoline, turpentine, white spirit and methylated<br />
spirits. Does not resist e.g. thinner<br />
♦ Resists lubricating oils and greases, animal and vegetable fats.<br />
♦ Recommended for boats, floors, doors, windows and other wooden surfaces<br />
both indoors and outdoors.<br />
Solids content abt. 49 volume %, 56 weight %.<br />
Specific gravity 0.92 kg/l.<br />

Theoretical coverage 4 - 6 m 2 /l (100 μm).<br />

APPLICATION DETAILS<br />
Surface treatment New untreated surfaces<br />
Remove dirt and dust.<br />
Surfaces outdoors: prime with Valtti Base Priming Oil.<br />
Finewood surfaces: wash with Thinner 1054.<br />
Previously treated surfaces<br />
Wash the surface with FONTECLEAN AL detergent and rinse thoroughly with water.<br />
Remove old loose lacquer with scraper. Sand the whole surface and remove sanding<br />
dust.<br />
Application Stir the lacquer carefully before use. For priming new untreated surfaces thin the<br />
lacquer about <strong>20</strong> - 40 % with Thinner 1054. Brush evenly a thin layer 2 - 3 times. Thin<br />
top laqcuer 0 - <strong>20</strong> % if necessary. Varnish previously treated surfaces directly with<br />
unthinned lacquer 1 - 2 times. Sand the surface lightly after each coat.<br />
Note! Priming of exterior objects must always be done with high gloss <strong>MERIT</strong><br />
<strong>JAHTI</strong>.<br />
Application conditions The surface to be treated has to be dry i.e. the moisture content of the timber has to be<br />
below <strong>20</strong> %. During application and drying the temperature of the air has to be at least<br />
+ 5 ºC and the relative humidity of the air below <strong>80</strong> %.<br />
Do not apply the lacquer under direct sunlight or during moist and cold weather. Time<br />
varnishing so that the lacquer film has enough time to dry before the evening dew.<br />
VOC The Volatile Organic Compounds amount is 390 g/litre of paint.<br />
Maximum VOC content in ready to use paint (thinned <strong>20</strong> % by volume) is 514 g/l.<br />
HEALTH AND SAFETY Containers are provided with safety labels, which should be observed. Further<br />
information about hazardous influences and protection are detailed in individual health<br />
and safety data sheets.<br />
