Komodo FX
The Komodo FX is a burly, big-hit hardtail that delivers the goods without the weight and complexity of
a full-suspension platform. The 7005 triple-gauge aluminum main tubes and big D-shape stays are all-conditions ready,
and shrug off hits that’ll bottom the Manitou Axel Elite’s 100mm of travel without even a whimper. With TruVativ’s
Hussefelt crank and alloy bash guard, an oversize 31.8mm Hussefelt stem and riser bar, Hayes mechanical discs
and an SDG saddle with oversize 8mm rails, if you can dish it out, the Komodo FX can take it and keep coming back.
Durango SX
The Durango SX goes up-spec for ’04, but stays in the friendly price range. Upgrades for this year include Hayes
MX-2 cable-operated disc brakes with Avid FR-1 levers, a tough-but-lightweight TruVativ 5D crank and Manitou’s
Axel Comp fork with fluid flow damping and adjustable preload. The Axel Comp’s 80mm of controlled travel lets you
make the most of the Durango’s handling abilities whether you’re climbing uphill or bombing the descents.
