Henceforth, Desta Hagos is a remarkable woman. Circumstances and conditions beyond her control obligated her to face the world alone, and become a single mother. In both her career and her personal life, she was and still is one of the most successful and respected artists in Ethiopia. Despite the complications and disadvantages that the Derg imposed onto Desta Hagos, women and society in general, she was able to maintain her beautiful sense of worth as well as her promising and optimistic frame of mind.
