20.3 City of Lahti<br />

The Lahti region is part of the Helsinki metropolitan area. Located in the heart of Southern <strong>Finland</strong>, the Lahti<br />

region is within a two-hour reach of roughly half of the Finnish population.<br />

Its verdant and welcoming living environment, its active business life and a broad range of diverse educational<br />

opportunities have drawn people from all over <strong>Finland</strong> to Lahti. The city has become a rapidly growing centre for<br />

an economic area encompassing over 200,000 people.<br />

Lahti is especially well known for its environmental expertise and for being an internationally renowned design<br />
