Went On” & “Six Pillars to
Persia” have both toured
festivals around the world.
She is also working with
Animae Caribe to conduct
workshops to University of
Trinidad and Tobago animation
students.
Michael Valiquette
iis an award-winning animation
producer, manager
& artist. In 2008, Michael
set out to unite the diverse
Canadian Animation
community, and founded
Canadian Animation Resources,
the only central,
online resource catering to
both the independent sector
and commercial industry
in Canada.
Odin Dupeyron is a
bestselling mexican author,
actor, theater and tv
director, renowned for his
work portraying the character
of Plaza Sésamo’s
–Sesame Street in Latin
America- Pancho Contreras,
as well as writing
the bestseller “Y colorín
colorado este cuento aún
no se ha acabado”. His
monologue “A Vivir!” has
been successfully running
and touring uninterruptedly
for almost 5 years.
Peter J Deluca is a Layout Artist with 19 years of
2D/3D experience in the Film and TV industry with
credits in 15 films. He has created several traditional
workbooks for animated shorts and features. His role
as layout artist is in producing rough layouts for feature
animated films ,establishing locations, posing characters
within the scene, setting up camera mechanics. His
most recent work can be seen in the Disney Production
“Princess and the Frog”
Joan Vogelesang
Prior to joining Toon Boom, president
& CEO of Toon Boom Joan held senior
level marketing positions at IBM
Canada & served as the Vice President
of Product Line Management
for Philips Electronics & Hitachi Data
Systems. In 2005, just two years
after Vogelesang took over as the
company’s CEO, Toon Boom’s software
solution, Toon Boom Opus, received
a Prime Time Emmy Award.
Even as she sits at the top of her industry,
this CEO still exhibits the curiosity
and sense of adventure that
drove her to work in 2D animation in
the first place.
ANIMEX Founded in 2000 Animex
is a Mexican Animation studio dedicated
to producing original content
for television, feature films and video,
for local channels and for export.
Their movie La Leyenda de la Nahuala
is the first animated feature film to
be made in Mexico. Set in 1807 the
film explores the rich folk history and
fantasy of Mexican culture through
the eyes of a young boy named Leo
San Juan. Animae Caribe is proud to
present this ground breaking work to
audiences.
Dennis Jackson began his career
watching 16mm prints of animation
on aboriginal creation tales. He then
volunteered at the local Saskatoon
cable channel & produced a 13 part
series entitled, “Voices of Aboriginal
Youth,” that was nominated for
Best Community Programming at the
1993 Showcase Awards. In 1998 he
attained his BA in Film & Video Production
at the University of Regina.
Wapos Bay – The Series. The pilot
episode, “There’s No ‘I’ in Hockey”,
won the 2006 Gemini Canada Award
as well as the Best Script Dramatic &
Best of Showcase Award.
