In the last two decades or so, media has emerged as a very powerful tool
bringing major transformations in our collective life. The integrated
scenario of globalization, advent of technology and the need for
information have reshaped the role of press and media and prepared a
fresh blueprint to meet the requirements of the contemporary world.
Media today has emerged as a platform to highlight and raise issues of
national and international importance. The scope of media activities is
all encompassing and has become an inseparable part of our life.
The exponential growth in the entertainment and media industry has
necessitated the need to set up colleges of Journalism & Mass
Communication to cater to the growing demand of media professionals
interested in a career in print and electronic media, advertising, public
relations, event management and acquiring skills in television news,
videography and video editing.
In view of the current trend and growing importance of the profession,
Teerthanker Mahaveer University opened the College of Journalism and
Mass Communication and launched the programs of Bachelor & Master
in Journalism and Mass Communication from the session 2011-12.
