STORIES
OF THE20 THCENTURY
During the last years of the 19th and into the 20th
Century, theatrical newsreels brought the world to
the American public. Over 360 classic, archival clips
capture events spanning significant moments from
1897 to 1969, when television took over and
delivered world news directly into our homes.
Students will enjoy short 2-3 minute clips on
pivotal world and national events, personalities,
disasters, and athletic feats that shaped the
20th Century.
The Toy Castle, a critically acclaimed series
performed by members of the Royal Winnipeg
Ballet, opens the world of classical arts to young
students. Dance, music and mime combine to
create a fantasy world that will unlock the
imagination and foster an appreciation for the arts.
Each of the 12 stories are set in a magical castle
where the toys come to life and offers children the
chance to get up and practice classical ballet steps.
