IMPORTANT: DO NOT DISTURB
CEILINGS
Please do not tamper with the blown-on
soundproofing (acoustical) ceiling material
in Mesa Apartments. While most of the
ceiling material in Mesa Housing contains
no asbestos, a recent survey of acoustical
ceiling material in Central Mesa Housing
conducted by EH&S resulted in a low
percentage of asbestos. Any asbestoscontaining
material in Mesa Housing has
been encapsulated, as specified by law, to
avoid potential disturbances. Although the
acoustical ceiling contains a low percentage
of asbestos, it is important to maintain
the ceilings in good condition. The ceilings
are inspected by UC San Diego EH&S staff
during annual housing inspections. If you
have any concerns with your apartment,
please contact the office at 858.822.3291.
