Hence, it was suggested that the part be cut into two pieces, as shown in<br />

Figure 8.67, <strong>and</strong> welded together. The right h<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> left h<strong>and</strong> parts were<br />

double attached as shown in Figure 8.68.<br />

Conclusion<br />

The proposed concept of cutting the skirt into two pieces reduced the draw<br />

depth significantly <strong>and</strong> easily balanced the shape of the die.<br />

DOE-based parametric study showed that there was no significant<br />

improvement in NCAP performance by upgrading the skirt material. Hence,<br />

incremental analysis was not performed on the skirt.<br />
