The Institute of Art and Design of the University of West Bohemia is a modern art<br />
school which has gained since its establishment in 2004 a strong position among<br />
other Czech art universities and it has become a top-class educational institution<br />
in the field of fine arts and design.<br />
As the future Faculty of Art and Design it is characterised by constant dynamic<br />
development and close cooperation with other parts and faculties of the<br />
University of West Bohemia, such as the New Technologies Research Center,<br />
Faculty of Mechanical Engineering or Faculty of Applied Sciences. A number<br />
of its projects is based on this close cooperation of art and technical disciplines.<br />
The studies at the Institute of Art and Design focus primarily on applied arts and<br />
design. The school provides its students with professionally equipped studios and<br />
a strong academic background. The Institute of Art and Design consists of two<br />
departments – Department of Fine Arts and Department of Design. The Institute<br />
employs renowned Czech artists whose achievements in the field of fine arts and<br />
