Any student, in consultation with <strong>the</strong> advisor or ano<strong>the</strong>r faculty member, may<br />

propose a unique combination <strong>of</strong> courses designed to meet particular career objectives.<br />

A proposal must be submitted to <strong>the</strong> associate dean <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> School <strong>of</strong> Engineering and<br />

<strong>the</strong> Engineering Faculty Council for approval; it may be submitted as early as <strong>the</strong> second<br />

semester <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> freshman year and must be submitted before <strong>the</strong> beginning <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> senior<br />

year. The proposal must include a letter stating <strong>the</strong> students reasons for pursuing <strong>the</strong><br />

suggested program <strong>of</strong> study.<br />

Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Science in Engineering/Master <strong>of</strong> Science Program. This program<br />

provides students with an opportunity to plan a coordinated five-year program <strong>of</strong><br />

studies in <strong>the</strong> School <strong>of</strong> Engineering leading to both <strong>the</strong> Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Science in<br />

Engineering and Master <strong>of</strong> Science degrees. Application for admission to this integrated<br />

program may be made during <strong>the</strong> junior or senior year. Provisional admission to <strong>the</strong><br />

Graduate School may be granted when <strong>the</strong> student enrolls for <strong>the</strong> semester during<br />

which <strong>the</strong> Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Science in Engineering degree requirements will be completed.<br />

Graduate level courses during this period which are in excess <strong>of</strong> Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Science in<br />

Engineering requirements may be credited toward fulfillment <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Master <strong>of</strong> Science<br />

degree requirements.<br />

International Honors Program. The International Honors Program is a certificate<br />

program consisting <strong>of</strong> six to eight semester courses, depending on <strong>the</strong> foreign language<br />

level pr<strong>of</strong>iciency <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> student. All <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> IHP course requirements may, with sufficiently<br />

advanced planning, fulfill humanities and social sciences or approved elective<br />

requirements which are encompassed in <strong>the</strong> schools accredited engineering programs.<br />
