PRECOLLEGE PROGRAM During the summer of 1999, Duke University will offer a Term II program for academically talented rising high school seniors from across the country. The PreCollege Program is designed to provide the academic challenge of college-level courses to qualified college-bound students and to help prepare them for the adjustments they will be making when they enter college. Students will enroll in two regular summer session classes with Duke undergraduates. Introductory level courses in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences will be offered for college credit. The students will live in supervised, air-conditioned university dormitories, eat their meals in the university dining halls, enjoy the opportunity of studying with distinguished members of the Duke faculty, and will have access to all university libraries and athletic facilities. In addition to the classroom experience, PreCollege students participate in a range of programs and activities designed to aid them in college selection, career exploration, and intellectual and social development.
