(Photo Courtesy of Ted Kostich Jr., „14 D3) This past week, members of Company B3 got in the Halloween and Fall spirit with a pumpkin carving session. The pumpkins, bought from the farmer‘s market in Highland Falls, were cut up into all sorts of fun shapes and sizes, to include: a pumpkin snowman, a Bandit pumpkin, and a Wolfpack pumpkin. The Bandit themed pumpkin will be presented to the B3 TAC Team, and the Wolfpack pumpkin will go to our RTO. To see more of their designs, stop by their company area! Model United Nations - Courtesy of BG Trainor Recently, the Model United Nations team travelled to New Haven, Connecticut to participate in the Security Council Simulation at Yale University and won the award for Best Small Delegation (1st Place). The competition focused on responding to an emergency in the most effective way possible while using debating and rhetorical skills to rally support from other competitors. As a team, the members of the Model United Nations team won 11 individual awards, with first Beat Air Force Week! Page 4 place performances from the following members: Will Dickson '13, Colleen Harrison '13, and Warren Geary '14. So far this year, the group has won first place at two conferences this year: The National Collegiate Security Conference, and the Security Conference at Yale. Congratulations to the Model UN. Last year, the Army-Air Force game was held at Falcon Stadium in Colorado. The Army Black Knights held the Falcons to a two touch-down lead in the first half, but were unable to hold on the second half and the Falcons came back to win the game 24 to 14. This year, Air Force surprisingly was able to capture a win against Navy, but when they descend into the low altitudes of West Point, they do not stand a chance to beat our Black Knights! The dense air will be too much for their lungs to handle, and by half-time the game will be over! This week, Third Regiment will be celebrating the time leading up to the game with extra spirit! ―Drop Zones‖ will line the halls of Ike and Mac barracks, so come on by to check out the fun that we‘re having. Additionally, this week the CBS Sideline Reporter will be our very own Regimental S2, Cadet Ted Kostich Jr. As the game progresses he‘ll be broadcasting live from the sidelines in support of the team! Fourth Regiment The Cowboys Capitalize on Social Media In the 2012 academic year, Cadet Nick Trofimoff created the Cowboy‘s Facebook Page. The C4 Cowboy Photo Round Up was created with the intent of connecting Old Graduates, past and current Cowboys, and families through social the media. With the growing popularity of Facebook and other social media sites, the page serves as a great way for The Cowboys to share their The Corps is Falling for Autumn The Corps of Cadets is enjoying the gorgeous fall weather around West Point. The Hudson Valley offers a wide variety of things to do near post. A Corps favorite continues to be apple picking. Lawrence Farms in Newburgh and other local farms offer the option for visitors to pick apples, enjoy apple cider, take hayrides, and even pick pumpkins for décor during Autumn. Cadets also frequent haunted houses just in time for Halloween. Terror Dome Haunted Park is also nearby. Under- most recent stories with friends and family. Group members can post pictures, discover the latest events in C4, connect with other Cowboys, and even post documents for the other group members. Other companies in the Fourth Regiment also utilize online venues to collect pictures and keep in contact. class cadets frequently try to convince Firsties to loan them cars for trips. Upper class cadets try to enjoy the weather as much as possible while visiting wineries such as Brotherhood Winery. This winery has a fun and relaxing environment while the leaves change color around its visitors. The winery offers both wine tastings and winery tours. The more adventurous cadets can try grape stomping. Central Valley and Woodbury Commons continue to be a cadet attraction among the many other attractions to visit as the weekend fly by this fall. Fourth Regiment Command Staff Notes The Fourth Regimental staff is looking forward to coming weeks. After Army v. Ball State , the regiment is looking forward to taking on The United States Air Force Academy this upcoming weekend. Air Force week includes wearing ACU‘s every day rather than As for Class Uniforms. Additionally, upper class cadets have the opportunity to make Drop Zones in which plebes will engage in fun activities in the hallways traveling to and from their rooms. The regiment successfully completed an In Ranks inspection before the Ball State Football game when cadets were inspected in CDT Nick Trofimoff recently posted a picture of current cowboys with Rudy Giuliani, former Mayor of New York City. With the weather changing, the weekends filled with Black Knights football games and various other training events, Woodbury Common provides The Corps with its newest fall lines to improve wardrobes at an outdoor mall. Cadets continue to spend time with friends away to escape the bustle of West Point. their Full Dress uniforms. The newly expected Hurricane Sandy will likely present the Corps of Cadets with an interesting week. The Fourth Regiment continues to work hard day to day and will surely impress visitors with our haunted trunk rooms in spirit of Halloween.
