The Mercury as a team recorded TWENTY double-doubles and led the league with SIX different players tallying at least one. Forward<br />

CANDICE DUPREE led the team with SEVEN while guard/forward DEWANNA BONNER followed with FOUR and guard<br />

TEMEKA JOHNSON recorded THREE. DIANA TAURSI recorded back-to-back double-doubles on August 1-3 giving her SEVEN<br />

for her career while forward/center TANGELA SMITH recorded TWO giving her 18 for her career. Penny Taylor picked up her<br />

FIRST of <strong>2010</strong> and FIFTH of her career on August 17 at Los Angeles.<br />

After joining the Mercury on July 23 as part of a midseason acquisition, KARA BRAXTON played in just over 17 minutes per game<br />

off the bench, the seventh most on the team. However, she seems to make the most of her time. For the season Braxton averaged 23.5<br />

points per 40 minutes, SIXTH most in the <strong>WNBA</strong>.<br />

AS DUPREE GOES SO THE MERCURY GOES<br />

It didn‘t take long for forward CANDICE DUPREE to be<strong>com</strong>e a vital role in deciding the out<strong>com</strong>e of Mercury games. In 15 wins<br />

Dupree averaged 19.3 points and 9.0 rebounds per game, <strong>com</strong>pared to 12.9 points and 6.4 rebounds in 19 losses.<br />

JULY’S BEST?<br />

Mercury forward CANDICE DUPREE opened the month of July by recording season highs in scoring in three consecutive games (vs.<br />

Washington, vs. New York, at Los Angeles), averaging 24.0 points and 10.0 rebounds while shooting 69.0% from the field, and that<br />

was just the beginning. In NINE games during the month of July, Dupree topped her previous season high in scoring FIVE times,<br />

including a career-high 32 points at Minnesota on July 24, averaging 22.3 points on 69.7% shooting. Averaging 9.3 rebounds, she also<br />

recorded THREE double-doubles giving her SIX for the season and 34 for her career.<br />
