DSA 2012 Show Preview

“Defence Services Asia Exhibition And Conference (DSA) 2012 will be held at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala 

Lumpur from April 16 to 19, 2012 and the Ministry of Defence Malaysia (MINDEF) is pleased to once again lend its 

support to this mega event which will be the 13th in the series. 

Over the years, the DSA series has built up a firm reputation as THE premier defence show in Asia if not the 

world, putting Malaysia firmly on the radar within the defence and security exhibition arena.

POX OUTBREAK TABLETOP EXERCISE 

STRUCTURE OF A POX EXERCISE 

A workshop is a supervised table-top exercise, with cycles of dilemmas and interactive discussion 

between the participants who are primarily high level decision making officials within the armed 

forces. 

The exercise is divided into several phases, where the information is presented in TV news clips. 

As events progress participants are given the opportunity to promote a detailed action plan 

calibrated to match the flow of events during a smallpox outbreak. 

The roles and responsibilities of the participants involve not only the health structure and 

civilian public health authorities, but also management options of the security, military and political 

stakeholders are addressed as the scenario is unfolded. 

CRITICAL ISSUES DISCUSSED DURING A POX EXERCISE

Just notify the driver of the vehicle that the drop-off point will be at the PWTC Main 

Entrance (facing Hentian Putra Bus Station) or at the Entrance of Hall 1 (next to MIC

BY LIGHT RAIL TRANSIT (LRT) 

Visitors are encouraged to use the Star LRT and exit at the “PWTC” Station which 

is located just 5 minutes walk from the centre. Visitors may also use the Putra LRT 

by exiting at the Masjid 

Jamek Station; change to 

Star Line. 

BY KTM 

COMMUTER TRAIN 

Visitors may also opt to take 

the KTM Commuter train. 

Exit at the “Putra” Station
