2.1 General Issues
Meeting Minutes - 14/15/16 November 2008
The Coordinator (University of Cyprus) made an overall presentation of the WideMEDnet
project, including the objectives, the work breakdown structure and the current status of the
project.
The Coordinator focused on:
• the urgent need for the contract´s approval and signing
• the accomplishment of all financial obligations as they are planned and presented in the
financial plan for the project´s duration.
2.2 WP1 Experimentation with Problem Based Learning approaches and
Web 2.0 for pilot courses developed in IntraMedNet
TEPAK as coordinator of WP1 presented a summary of the objectives and activities of this WP.
Furthermore, the leaders of the WP1 workactivities expressed their thoughts and action plans for
carrying out the work that has to be done under this WP. WP1 consists of the following
workactivities, with the responsible partner and dates given in parentheses:
o WP1.1 Experimentation with Problem Based Learning approaches and Web 2.0 (AUTH,
10/08-12/08)
o WP1.2 Course deployment (TEPAK, 10/08-12/08)
For each workactivity, the leading partner will coordinate all activities, firstly by initiating the
procedure with an action plan and dedication of work, then carrying out the work, and finally
preparing the final version of the deliverable. The WP leader will also oversee, monitor, and give
feedback on all the activities involved in this WP. More specifically, it was agreed that the
following actions be taken with respect to this WP:
For WP1.1 (Responsible partner AUTH, plus all other partners):
o Investigate platforms that are available in support of Problem Based Learning and
Web2.0.
o Platform to support WP1 can be investigated in conjunction with WP2.
o Compatibility with the Moodle platform that was the main platform for the IntraMEDnet
project has to be very seriously taken into consideration. More specifically, the possibility
of using Moodle v1.9 supporting the actions prescribed under both WP1 and WP2 has to
be investigated.
o Draft deliverable will be prepared and presented in the Thesalloniki meeting.
For WP1.2 (Responsible partner TEPAK, plus all other partners):
o List of WideMEDnet PBL courses will be created based on the courses developed in
IntraMEDnet (table available in Deliverable 4.2). Certainly additional courses could be
added (i.e. medical seminars organised by Pafos General Hospital). The following PBL
courses were discussed as examples:
