Executive Summary
Project Grande (Guernsey) Ltd
selected Dimension Data Advanced
Infrastructure to procure and
install multiple networking and
communications technologies
into its prestige residential
development. This involved
multiple vendor products and
multiple services from within
the One Hyde Park site, as well
as into the neighbouring Mandarin
Oriental Hotel.
Client Overview
One Hyde Park is a luxury residential
development of 80 apartments and three
retail boutiques on a prominent site in
Knightsbridge, adjacent to Hyde Park in
the UK.
The building consists of four separate
pavilions of varying heights up to thirteen
storeys high, offering apartments
with views over both Hyde Park and
Knightsbridge. It was designed by
architects Rogers Stirk Harbour and
Partners. The apartments range in size
from single bedroom units to large, multilevel
penthouses all designed with an
exceptional quality and attention to detail
by interior designers Candy and Candy.
At the time of the build One Hyde Park
was the most expensive residential address
in the world, with some apartments selling
for a reported £130m.
Business Challenge
As befits a development of this nature,
the level and range of services provided
to residents – from concierge services, to
security, to communications – meant that
the quality and reliability of the network
installation, upon which many services
relied, had to be outstanding.
The demands upon those engaged in the
development were stringent. For example,
to maintain the aesthetics of the building:
• Cable ties had to be cut off and equally
spaced wherever they were used in the
interests of neatness; and
• The mobile access points needed to be
changed from dome shaped to stick
aerial, while the facility had to be
re-surveyed to find suitable points to
place them.
Collaboration with the developers was
required at two levels:
• Engaging with multiple manufacturers to
install advanced equipment throughout,
from networking to mobile infrastructure
and handsets.
• Integrating multiple services and
suppliers, extending the integration to
include the Mandarin Oriental Hotel
to provide a concierge service and a
gym WI-FI service for use by guests as
they train.
The Way Forward
This was the first major project undertaken
between Project Grande (Guernsey)
Ltd and Dimension Data Advanced
Infrastructure. Despite Dimension Data
Advanced Infrastructure being called
in late to the project, the quality and
professionalism of the team has led to the
establishment of a firm relationship.

Solution Delivered
Dimension Data Advanced Infrastructure
designed and installed infrastructure to
provide multiple services throughout
the building. The scope covered the
installation of a secure LAN, telephony and
an in-building cellular network with high
coverage requirements, e.g. aerials installed
in the lift shaft to ensure continuity of
coverage. The design ethos called for
‘value enhancing’ and delivery of the right
quality at the right price. Dimension Data
Advanced Infrastructure’s consultative and
problem-solving approach allowed the
project team to collaborate in achieving
the client’s goals. Dimension Data
Advanced Infrastructure added value to the
installation phase, thanks to its experience
in other high-end developments.
Services Provided
Dimension Data Advanced Infrastructure
designed, delivered and installed a bespoke
intelligent network infrastructure in order
to provide a range of connectivity and
communications services, commensurate
with the reputation of the apartments and
the expectations of its residents. Dimension
Data Advanced Infrastructure also provided
a full warranty of works carried out, and
will offer as ad hoc fault reporting through
its Infrastructure Operations Centre.
