This annual tradition serves as your official welcome from the <strong>University</strong><br />

Community into our Academic Community of Honor. The event marks the start<br />

of your academic career in a way that is similar to commencement, which will<br />

mark the end of your academic career in four years. Please be seated by<br />

9:45am.<br />

The attire for this event is professional dress. Men should wear a tie and<br />

jacket. Women should dress modestly in a dress or pantsuit. Flip‐ flops and<br />

tennis shoes/sneakers are not appropriate for this event. You will be asked to<br />

go change your clothes should your attire be deemed unacceptable.<br />

Headphone Mixer and Dance Party<br />

The AVAdventure uses mobile technology to engage participants with each<br />

other through stories and games ‐ it's a live, interactive event experienced<br />

through headphones. It's a night of fun, fast paced games with you as the star<br />

of the show. Players never know what will happen next! The night ends in a<br />

giant two‐channel headphone dance party!<br />

**This is an exclusive event available only to the first 400 students who arrive. **<br />

9:00pm‐11:00pm Black Light Dance Party Auxiliary Gym<br />

AY! OH! LETS GLOW! Are you ready for this Black Light Dance Party?! A live DJ<br />

and dozens of black lights transform the Auxiliary Gym into a massive glow<br />

party! Glow Sticks provided! Wear white or neon colors to really stand out!<br />

Saturday and Sunday, students are encouraged to explore CNU<br />

and <strong>Newport</strong> News. Please see website for free and fun activities<br />

Come check out all that the university has to offer! With university‐<br />

recognized student clubs and local businesses all under one roof, the<br />

Club Fair provides a great opportunity for all students to get involved<br />

and learn more about organizations that exist both on and off campus.<br />

This festive event, filled with music, food, and inflatable games, marks<br />

the beginning of a new year of student activities!<br />
