PROFUSELY NOTATED by Damien Hirst, describing <strong>the</strong><br />

freeze show. This show has a special significance for Hirst as<br />

it was his curatorial debut. This show was such a success that it<br />

marked <strong>the</strong> beginning of <strong>the</strong> “Young British Artists” generation.<br />

Group show curated By Damien Hirst and held in London Docklands,<br />

‘Freeze’ (1988) was <strong>the</strong> first major exhibition of works by<br />

a group of artists from Goldsmiths College, London. The term<br />

Y.B.A. / Young British Artists was coined shortly after <strong>the</strong> exhibition.<br />
