There are many great reasons to attend the University of denver Sturm College of law. Here are just a few.
The Faculty. The core of any law school is its faculty. The Sturm College of law is blessed with a large
number of experienced faculty who are outstanding scholars in their fields, and who are eager to share
their pathbreaking work in a variety of fields with our students. Most importantly, all of our faculty care
deeply about their students and take their teaching very seriously. They incorporate the latest research
on effective teaching methods and take advantage of the state-of-the-art technology that is available in
all of our classrooms.
The Curriculum. The Sturm College of law offers the basic courses offered at all law schools, and
provides a solid foundation on which to build your career in law. We also offer a wide range of special-
ized classes that permit our faculty to bring their scholarship into the classroom. We offer law classes in
Russian and Spanish. our clinical programs, together with our programs in environmental and natural
resources law, international law, legal writing, and tax are recognized as among the best in the United
States. A variety of programs permit our students to hone legal skills outside the classroom. For over
100 years, the clinics at the Sturm College of law have offered students an opportunity to represent
clients, under the supervision of a member of the faculty, in civil and criminal cases. our students have
additional opportunities to learn about the practice of law through our extensive internship program,
which provides placements in the vibrant legal community of denver, in the United States and abroad.
our five law journals provide an opportunity for students to hone writing and analytical skills through the
production of periodicals dedicated to legal scholarship. In addition, Sturm College of law students are
required to complete 50 hours of public service work, advancing the legal profession’s proud tradition of
service to the community.
