Each month, an average 5,004
people volunteered their time to
support Harvesters’ mission.
Volunteers gave 130,253 hours of
service to help sort and repackage
food in Harvesters’ Volunteer
Outreach Center.
Harvesters would need to nearly
double the size of its workforce
to accomplish the work done by
volunteers.
“To me, it is simply unconscionable that in a society as
plentiful as ours, there are people who still go hungry.
The reasons behind that disparity are large, complex and
overwhelming – what can one person really do in the face
of that?
At Harvesters, I’ve found that one person really can make a
difference. With each can that is sorted, box that is packed,
or carton that is labeled, somebody in need in our community
is being helped. And that makes a world of difference to me!”
