Donkey Raffle from Marie Zettler, Cobden Ontario
A Cajun named, Jean Paul, moved to Texas and bought a
donkey from a farmer for $100. The farmer agreed to deliver
the donkey the next day. The next day, the farmer drove up
and said, "Sorry, but I have some bad news. The donkey
died." "Well, then, just give me my money back." "Can't do
that. I went and spent it already." "OK, then. Just unload the
donkey." "What ya gonna do with him?" "I'm going to raffle
him off." "You can't raffle off a dead donkey!" "Sure I can.
Watch me. I just won't tell anybody he's dead." A month
later the farmer met up with the Cajun and asked, "What
happened with that dead donkey?" "I raffled him off. I sold
five hundred tickets at two dollars a piece and made a profit
of $898." "Didn't anyone complain?" "Just the guy who
won. So I gave him his two dollars back."
Senior Moments from Guy LaPlante KG Brampton Hansa
Three old guys are out walking. First one says, "Windy, isn't
it?" Second one says, "No, its Thursday!" Third one says,
"So am I. Let's go get a beer."
A little old man shuffled slowly into an ice cream parlor and
pulled himself slowly, painfully, up onto a stool. After
catching his breath he ordered a banana split. The waitress
asked kindly, "Crushed nuts?" " No," he replied, "arthritis.”
A man was telling his neighbor, "I just bought a new hearing
aid. It cost me four thousand dollars, but it's state of the art.
It's perfect." "Really," answered the neighbor. "What kind is
it?" "Twelve thirty."
Morris, an 82 year-old man, went to the doctor to get a
physical. A few days later the doctor saw Morris walking
down the street with a gorgeous young woman on his arm.
A couple of days later the doctor spoke to Morris and said,
"You're really doing great, aren't you?" Morris replied, "Just
doing what you said, Doc: 'Get a hot mamma and be
cheerful.’" The doctor said, "I didn't say that. I said, 'You've
got a heart murmur. Be careful.'"
Kids in Church from Marie Zettler, Cobden Ontario
A little boy was in a relative's wedding. As he was coming
down the aisle, he would take two steps, stop, and turn to
the crowd. While facing the crowd, he would put his hands
up like claws and roar. So it went step, step, ROAR, step,
step, ROAR, all the way down the aisle. As you can imagine,
the crowd was near tears from laughing so hard by the time
he reached the pulpit. When asked what he was doing, the
child sniffed and said, "I was being the Ring Bear."
I had been teaching my three-year old daughter, Caitlin, the
Lord's prayer. For several evenings at bedtime, she would
repeat after me the lines from the prayer. Finally, she decided
to go solo. I listened with pride as she carefully enunciated
each word, right up to the end of the prayer: "Lead us not
into temptation," she prayed, "but deliver us some E-mail.
Amen."
Why We Love Children from Marie Zettler, Cobden Ont.
An exasperated mother, whose son was always getting into
mischief, finally asked him "How do you expect to get into
Heaven?" The boy thought it over and said, "Well, I'll run in
and out and in and out and keep slamming the door until St.
Peter says, 'For Heaven's sake, Dylan, come in or stay out!'"
