This course covers the basics <strong>of</strong> contract law and attendees will walk away<br />

with a one-page “Letter <strong>of</strong> Engagement” that can be utilized for most<br />

pr<strong>of</strong>essional service <strong>of</strong>ferings. Verbal, written, express and implied contracts<br />

will be studied. Short form and long form contracts, pros and cons, will be<br />

ex<strong>am</strong>ined. Certifications, warranties and guarantees and how they apply to<br />

pr<strong>of</strong>essional services will be discussed. Liability and limiting liability through<br />

contract language will also be studied with s<strong>am</strong>ple contract clauses. Ex<strong>am</strong>ples<br />

<strong>of</strong> contract clauses to avoid, especially when the pr<strong>of</strong>essional is asked to sign<br />

the client’s contract, will be <strong>of</strong>fered and discussed.<br />
