BTL 2000

Description
The battery-, test- and charging system BTL 2000 is a fully automatic, computercontrolled
charging system with automatic 12 V / 24 V switching. It works with a
four-wire system:
- two lines for CHARGING
- two lines for MEASURING
Cable length: 4 x 1.5 mm² to 30 m / 4 x 2.5 mm² to 50 m
This makes the maintenance-free, trouble-free system suitable for MONITORING
and CHARGING 12V and 24V batteries. The charging procedure starts softly
and gently. The charger detects whether a 12 V or 24 V battery is connected and
begins to charge automatically after measuring.
There is constant communication between the BTL 2000 and the battery
because of the four-wire network and the gently pulsed charging. The battery is
measured every 50 ms and the device recognises the full level and automatically
switches to the required charge current.
When the display shows a “pause”, the battery is fully charged. There is no
charge current flowing in this state. The battery is monitored every 50 ms and
based on the discharged state of the battery (secondary user) the missing
capacity is charged.
The perpetual communication between BTL 2000 and the battery produces a
considerably longer lifespan for the battery (8 - 10 years). The integrated mains
supply is fitted with a European plug so that the device can be operated in any
230 Volt / 50 Hz socket.

The BTL 2000 can simultaneously charge and monitor 2 to 4 emergency vehicles (BTL 2000/2, 2000/3, 2000/4)
It checks the on-board voltage at the battery every 50 ms
- whether it is fully or partially charged
- whether one of the batteries connected is faulty
- whether the plug connections (contacts) and battery water level is OK
- whether a 12 V / 24 V vehicle is connected (automatic switch-over)
Based on the outcome of the check by the integrated computer

Display
The on-board voltage 12 V / 24 V, charge current, error corrective action (light writing) and the filling level of the battery can be read on the display.

On each insertion there is a potential-free alarm output available and it can be programmed to suit requirements (alarm output, pager, lamp, etc.).

Description

Safety and order at the fire station
The SPIDY ® Air Roller ensures that fire brigade vehicles are supplied with air
and electricity when they need it or can be used to provide electrical energy to
mobile power consumers.
The cable is only ever extended when it is needed and only to the required
length. The rest stays safely stored away and is protected from dirt and damage.
The air/electricity connection is always available, but never in the way. The
length of the cable is continually adapted to varying work situations. No more
tangled cables or risks of tripping.
If the cable connection is no longer needed, a short pull on the stopper is enough
to neatly roll up the extended cable.

The SPIDY ® Air Roller is designed for industrial use and for manual operation. The standard cable used is a PÖLZ special cable (air and power
4x1.5mm²).

The cable stopper can be used to individually set the length of the protruding cable. The highly-effective lamella clamp is gentle on the cable

The BLC Box provides for an accurate charge compensation of two 12 V (24 V)
motor vehicle batteries. One of the 12 V batteries is normally faulty before the
other one in the case of 24 V vehicles, a well-known and undesirable problem
in emergency vehicles. Uneven load (e.g. 12 V auxiliary consumers, radio, radio
communications, etc.) or different internal resistance of the batteries (e.g. temperature
difference, one battery is closer to the exhaust) are some of the causes of
faults.
Equipment features
The service life of the batteries is substantially extended by the constant compensation procedure of the BLC box.
- Additional converters (24 V to 12 V e.g. radio equipment ...) do not have to be incorporated.
- The box can compensate loads differing by up to 3 ampere.
