Nurs<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>stitutions personnel consisted of the Hospital Nurs<strong>in</strong>g Managers, Head of Department<br />
<strong>in</strong> a university nurs<strong>in</strong>g school, and management of the nurs<strong>in</strong>g college. There were four<br />
<strong>in</strong>stitutions that participated: Two hospitals; a nurs<strong>in</strong>g school <strong>in</strong> the university and a nurs<strong>in</strong>g<br />
college. The composition is illustrated <strong>in</strong> Table1 below:<br />

2.3. Socio Demographic Determ<strong>in</strong>ants of Learners<br />
The sample of learners <strong>in</strong> the survey comprised 58.5% females and 41.5% males who were aged<br />
between 16 <strong>to</strong> 28 years.<br />

They were drawn from grades 11 and 12. It was important <strong>to</strong> request <strong>in</strong>formation about parents.<br />
Learners <strong>in</strong> this age group were assumed <strong>to</strong> be is the cus<strong>to</strong>dy of their parents or guardians. The<br />
study found that as much as many learners are fortunate enough <strong>to</strong> still have both parents alive,<br />
there were almost a quarter (23%) who reported that their fathers had passed away, as well 9%<br />
