9.8 CANADIAN AIDS TO NAVIGATION SYSTEM (CANS)
Rationale: Identification of buoys will allow boat operators to navigate safely and be
aware of specific situations and dangers affecting boat operation.
Objective: Operators should be able to identify and describe the functions of various
buoys and what to do in response to the specific situations or dangers identified by The
Canadian Aids to Navigation System (TP 968).
