Equal Opportunity
Leaders Course
EOL 471 is a sixty hour course
designed to train equal opportunity
leaders (EOL) who will be
performing EOL duties part-time.
The course is designed to provide a
foundation for understanding group
dynamics and the communication
process; increase awareness of racist
or sexist behavior; and increase
awareness of discrimination based on
race, sex, cultural, or
ethnic differences.
The course will introduce
students to current equal
opportunity regulations
and policies.
EOL Duties
Duties of a Unit Equal Opportunity
Leader (EOL):
• Assist commanders in addressing EO
climate detractors
• Continuously assist commanders in
the conduct of unit climate
assessments
• Prepare and assist the commander in
the conduct of EO training
• Establish and maintain liaison with
other EOL’s and with EO personnel at
higher headquarters
•Assist commanders
and assigned project
officers in preparing
and conducting
ethnic observances
and special
commemorations
