as cinematic backgrounds to mime artists
and ballet movement. Fifty years on,
the Laterna Magika uses the very latest
lighting techniques. Movable screens
change the sets and transport the
projections around the stage, providing
a foreigner-friendly show of contemporary
dance, artistic movement, mime, gesture
and black comedy to packed houses.
Here, the impenetrability of the Czech
language to foreigners is no obstacle to an
evening of imaginative entertainment.
