Join your colleagues from around the world, earn CME,<br />
and explore key areas rapidly expanding in cardiovascular<br />
medicine and surgery. ICA 2010 is designed to meet the specific<br />
educational needs <strong>of</strong> medical pr<strong>of</strong>essionals involved with the<br />
management and treatment <strong>of</strong> cardiovascular diseases, as they<br />
are encountered by primary care physicians, vascular, general,<br />
thoracic, cardiovascular surgeons, cardiologists, and interventional<br />
and neuroradiologists, fellows and residents <strong>of</strong> the above<br />
specialties, vascular biologists and their staff, and nurses.<br />
The overall goal is to bring together basic and clinical<br />
scientists to share knowledge and techniques in angiology, and<br />
provide an interaction with peers.<br />
This annual world congress will feature an internationally<br />
renowned faculty, and recognized leaders will discuss state-<strong>of</strong>-theart<br />
techniques in the diagnosis and treatment <strong>of</strong> vascular disease.<br />
Live video case presentations, didactic lectures, panel discussions,<br />
debates, and question and answer sessions, will highlight the most<br />
challenging and controversial topics and procedures performed in<br />
interventional medicine. We encourage all <strong>of</strong> our colleagues to<br />
participate in this growing educational program by either<br />
submission <strong>of</strong> a formal abstract for standard oral, poster, or video<br />
presentation.<br />
Venue<br />
Hilary J. Boone Faculty Club on the campus <strong>of</strong> the UK<br />
Healthcare, University <strong>of</strong> Kentucky. Transportation will be<br />
available from the Hilton Lexington Downtown Hotel designated as<br />
the Congress hotel at regularly scheduled intervals. There will be a<br />
nominal charge for shuttle service to the Faculty Club. All events,<br />
unless otherwise noted, will take place at the Hilary J. Boone<br />
Faculty Club.<br />

Climate<br />
Lexington is in the transition area between a humid<br />
continental climate and a humid subtropical climate. Summers are<br />
hot and humid, and winters are cool with mild periods. The<br />
average temperature in Lexington is 54.9�F (13�C). Lexington and<br />
the Bluegrass have four distinct seasons that include cool plateau<br />
breezes, moderate nights in the summer, and no prolonged<br />
periods <strong>of</strong> heat, cold, rain, wind, or snow. The normal high for the<br />
month <strong>of</strong> October is 66.9�F and normal low is 46.4�F.<br />
Transportation<br />
Whether arriving by air or by highway, getting to<br />
Lexington is easy. Lexington’s Blue Grass Airport, a 10-minute<br />
drive from downtown, is located near Keeneland Race Course and<br />
surrounded by horse farms�creating one <strong>of</strong> America’s most<br />
beautiful air approaches. A number <strong>of</strong> car rental companies have<br />
airport locations. In the downtown area, many attractions,<br />
restaurants, and shops are within walking distance <strong>of</strong> major<br />
hotels. All the buildings surrounding Triangle Park in the heart <strong>of</strong><br />
downtown are connected by pedways.<br />
