The European Academy Berlin<br />
was founded in 1964 as a non-party, independent conference<br />
venue. Its aim has since been to serve as an international forum of<br />
meeting, exchange and understanding, to foster studies and<br />
information on European affairs and to engage in adult education.<br />
The activities in political education centre primarily on the issues of<br />
European integration and co-operation and related questions as<br />
well as on international current affairs and modern-day society. The<br />
development of didactics concerning the teaching of the policy of<br />
European integration in schools and adult education is among the<br />
main focuses of the Institute of European Teacher Training which<br />
forms part of the European Academy.<br />
The Academy offers excellent facilities for seminars and<br />
conferences to be held: several lecture and study rooms as well as<br />
simultaneous interpretation equipment. An academic library is<br />
located in the same building and can be consulted on all questions<br />
relating to European integration and the European Union. The<br />
Academy has a capacity of 50 beds in double and single rooms(***)<br />
all of them fitted with shower/ toilet, telephone, television, minifridge<br />
and access to the Internet. Our house is equipped with W-<br />
Lan. The European Academy Berlin is a member of the European<br />
Network for Education and Training e.V. - EUNET.<br />
