Globalization is today. Employers want our graduates to understand culture & diversity and<br />

to have had first-hand exposure. A global experience is required for graduation for all<br />

<strong>Clarkson</strong> <strong>Business</strong> students.<br />

Type <strong>of</strong> Travel Semester Exchange Short-term Faculty led trips<br />

When ? Usually done junior year Summer after Sophomore/Junior year<br />

Length <strong>of</strong> Experience 4-5 months 2-3 weeks<br />

Cost Regular tuition is paid to <strong>Clarkson</strong>.<br />

Financial aid is not affected.<br />

Students are expected to pay for<br />

passport/visa fees, airfare, food,<br />

housing & extra excursions.<br />

Earned Credits Courses are approved for transfer<br />

before departure. If students plan<br />

correctly, the abroad semester will<br />

not affect graduation date.<br />

Acceptance An application must be<br />

completed, including a letter <strong>of</strong><br />

reference and an interview.<br />

3-credits (SB 399) counted as a <strong>University</strong><br />

Course that satisfies knowledge areas: Cultures<br />

and Societies (CS) and Contemporary Global<br />

Issues (CGI)<br />

Each program requires students to attend a 1<br />

hour pre-course once a week for the duration <strong>of</strong><br />

the semester before the trip.<br />

An application must be submitted through Kim<br />

Jukic and notification <strong>of</strong> approval will be given<br />

shortly after.<br />

<strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Business</strong> Faculty Led Trips: Each year students will be invited to participate in a<br />

study abroad fair where they will have an opportunity to discuss each trip with the faculty<br />

representative. Students will then make their top choices and begin an application process.<br />

2009 Summer Trip choices included:<br />

Italy China<br />

Croatia/Slovenia
