INTRODUCTION
What you hold in your hands is one of the final products of the team’s
absolute commitment to this title – a full rundown on what we thought you, the
fans, might want to know about the game as we see it. It’s got the clinical details
of how to play, who uses which gun, how to unlock the special features – but it
also has a lot of bonus content that we thought you’d enjoy.
We at n-Space are unabashedly proud of GoldenEye 007 – and even more
proud of the team that put it together. It was a pleasure to work with everyone
involved, and we think our appreciation for the game is clear in the final
product. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
STORY SYNOPSIS
Page
n-Space GoldenEye 007 Team
MI6 has recently been tracking a Russian General named Arkady Ourumov
for stealing Russian military equipment and selling it on the black market. They
have reason to believe he is working with a terrorist organization that has
targeted Great Britain’s embassies.
James Bond, along with his colleague, Alec Trevelyan, have both been
tasked with infiltrating Ourumov’s base of operations at a dam construction site
in Arkhangelsk, Russia. Once Bond and Trevelyan find what Ourumov is hiding --
an ominous, high-tech helicopter -- the plot begins to unfold, revealing an
intricate scheme to gain access to the deadly and top-secret GoldenEye satellite.
The satellite is equipped with a weapon that emits a devastating electromagnetic
pulse, packing enough force to overload and detonate any electronic
devices within its targeted location. Bond must work with MI-6 to get to the
bottom of Ourumov’s scheme by following clues and tracking down the elusive
General and his first-in-command, the Russian mercenary Xenia Onatopp. Intent
on carrying out his mission, Agent 007 will soon come to the realization that all
is not quite what it seems…

CONTROL GUIDE
When the game is started up for the first time, you will be asked to
choose your control scheme. There are two available control schemes,
Stylus Controls and Button Controls.
The Stylus Control scheme uses the touch pad and the stylus to look
around. The player uses the +Control Pad to move and the shoulder buttons to
fire. If the scheme is set to left hand mode, the player can use the X, Y, A, and B
Buttons to move instead.
For the Button Control scheme, the Touch Pad is used only to action
objects in the world and change or manually reload weapons. The player moves
with the +Control Pad and can look around using the X, Y, A, and B Buttons. The L
Button is held down to enter Aim-Down-Sights and the R Button is used to fire. In
left hand version the controls are swapped. Try Button Controls in your next
multiplayer match. There are a whole range of options to fine tune the controls
to suit your needs!
The control scheme and modifiers can be changed from the options menu on
the main menu. There, you can change the control scheme as well as the
handedness. There are also options to invert the look axis for Button Controls,
alter the stylus sensitivity for Stylus Controls, alter the sensitivity for the look
speed for Button Controls, change the look speed sensitivity during Aim-Down-
Sights, and turn on or off the Aim-Down-Sights Auto Lock for Button Controls.
FUNDAMENTALS OF ACTION
Health and Armor
At the start of the mission you’ll begin with full health (which is
represented by a curved set of bars on the left side of the top screen). For added
protection, grab an armor pickup found throughout the environment (which adds
a curved set of bars on the right side of the top screen). Armor, unlike health,
doesn’t regenerate so you’ll need to find more.
Taking Proper Cover
If you’re under heavy fire you can crouch behind environment objects for
a quick breather. When taking damage, regain your health by taking cover for a
short period of time.
Enemy Behavior
Typically enemies will always rush to the nearest cover point to stop you
at any cost. Oftentimes these are choke points which afford them maximum cover
and can also impede your progress.
Dropped Weapons and Pickups
Most enemies will drop their gun when defeated which can even the odds
in your favor. In addition, there are multiple weapons found in the environment
which can provide you some much needed firepower. Stay alert and be sure to try
out any weapons you come across to better leverage your skills as a secret
agent.
Environment Kills
Keep your eyes peeled for explosive objects, such as barrels, fire
extinguishers, steam valves, and many more. Shooting these objects will cause
them to explode and quickly eliminate any nearby enemies.
Page
FUNDAMENTALS OF STEALTH
Enemy Alert Stages
During missions where a more low-key approach is required, be aware of
the enemies’ three states of awareness; unaware, yellow alert, and red alert.
When a guard is in an unaware state they proceed on their regular patrol route.
However, if a guard has heard a noise or caught a glimpse of something strange,
they’ll investigate and enter yellow alert. When a guard has been bumped, shot,
or sees an intruder, he’ll enter a red alert and attack.
Automated Defenses
Page
Alarm panels
If the mission has been
comprised and you’ve been
spotted by a guard then he may
rush to the nearest alarm panel
to call for reinforcements.
Once the alarm has been tripped,
Guards come pouring out from
nearby doors or gates.
During your mission, you will come across two types of automated
defenses; security cameras and turret cameras. Security cameras scan the
immediate environment. once they spot an intruder, they’ll sound an alarm.
Turret cameras, however, come equipped with a mounted machine gun which can
eliminate any secret agent in seconds once located.
The Art of Stealth
In order to get the proper drop on the enemy,
crouch down to minimize your visibility and eliminate
the sound of your footsteps. Proceeding like this
enables the ability to perform a stealth takedown
on unaware enemies (done by pressing L or R button
when the stealth takedown icon appears or by using
by tapping on the stealth takedown icon on the
touch screen). Additionally, Secret Agents can use
objects in the environment to distract or kill
enemies. Some objects can be activated (such as
radios) which will lure guards near. Other objects
can be shot (such as generators) which will kill
anyone standing near it.
TANK OPERATION GUIDE
Controls
The tank is controlled by the +Control Pad to rotate the tank’s body and
to move the tank forward and backward. To aim the turret, use the Touch
Screen. if using Button Controls, use the X, Y, A, and B Buttons to aim. The tank
has 2 weapons; the cannon and 50 caliber machine guns. Use the touch pad to
switch weapons and the L Button or R Button to fire.
Health and Armor
Health will not regenerate when driving the tank. Use the repair icon on
the Touch Screen to fix damaged armor. You’ll have to wait until the cool-down
bar refills before you can use the repair function again.
Tips and tricks
Enemy tanks and helicopters use weapons that damage Bond’s health and
the tank’s armor. Take them out quickly. Soldiers with RPGs damage the tank’s
armor but not Bond’s health until the armor is depleted. Keep moving forward; if
you stay in one spot, you become an easy target.
The cannon and the 50 caliber guns are each useful in different situations.
Swapping between them will help you take out anything in your path. You don’t
always have to use your guns; the tank itself can plow through many of the
obstacles in the road.
TIME TRIALS
The Time Trial Mode will be unlocked once you beat the game. To get to the
Time Trials, select Time Trials from the Main Menu. When you highlight any level
in the list, it will display goal times on the upper screen for each difficulty
setting. When you start a level, the timer will start at zero and count up until
the level is complete (pausing during any cut-scenes). Once you complete the
level and go back to the Time Trials Menu, your best time will be displayed on the
upper screen for each difficulty. Beating the goal time will reward you with XP
points that can be spent to unlock game-enhancing cheats. You can earn a
maximum of three XP points per level: one point for each difficulty. Your total XP
points earned are displayed on the upper screen in the Time Trials Menu.
Tips for Spending XP
Page
By completing all of the levels on the Operative difficulty setting, you’ll
quickly unlock 15 XP points - enough for a few cheats to get you started.
Tips for Saving Time
Always run! To run, double tap UP on the control pad.
Use ADS (aim-down-sight) with your pistol to help you line up headshots.
not all enemies need to be defeated in stealth levels.
In the Tank level, don’t stop moving and avoid corners. You can survive
past most enemies, but be sure to take out the deadly helicopters.
Remember where explosive objects are in each area and shoot them at the
most opportune moment to take out as many nearby enemies as possible!
Look for shortcuts. Some areas have multiple routes.
don’t die! you will lose valuable time retracing your steps.
If your health is very low while playing on hard mode, it’s better to die
right after a checkpoint than waiting for your health to regenerate.
If you’re having trouble beating the clock, use a cheat to help you out!
INTEL
Scattered throughout your missions are
intelligence cases. Keep a wary eye out for these; there
are thirty-six cases to be found throughout the entire
mission. They may be hard to find, so take your time when
trying to find them!
You can find these cases in regular game play or
in time trial mode. Either way, they only need to be
acquired once. Once you have several, access the
Extras menu from the main menu, then go into the Intel
screen. Use the gathered intelligence to unlock
sections of each image. All of the images take nine intel
cases to reveal. To use an intel case, tap on a locked
square on the image; it will reveal that portion of the
image.
Once you have revealed an entire image, you must
then sort the information. Each square can be rotated
by tapping on it on the Touch Pad, then hitting the L Button or R Button to rotate
the piece in that direction. You can swap the location of two pieces by tapping on
one and then tapping the piece you want to swap with. Once all pieces are in the
correct position the intelligence will be solved. There are four total pieces to
solve!
Page
CHEATS
The Cheats Menu unlocks after you beat the game. Each cheat requires XP
to unlock, which is earned by completing Time Trials. Each cheat displays how
much XP it requires to unlock.
Available XP are shown on the upper
screen.
Cheats are used when a Time
Trial level is played. If you need to
disable all cheats, there is an option
at the top of the menu that allows you
to turn all cheats off at once. Cheats
can only be unlocked in the order
that they are listed.
