It is expected that the participants
shall arrange their travel
expenses and make their own
arrangements for stay in Delhi.
However, a limited number of
participants working in Academic
Institutions may be provided AC
Three Tier/ AC Chair Car rail
fare, provided that they produce a
certificate from their institution
that no TA/DA has been provided
to them by their institution.
Jamia Millia Islamia has limited
lodging facilities in the University
Guest House, which may be
provided on first-come-firstserved
basis to the participants
on payment in advance. The
rates for a double bed room on
sharing basis is Rs 175/- per day
per person.

FTK-Centre for Information
Technology (FTK – CIT):
An Introduction
Established in 1984 as a Computer
Centre with the objective of
providing central computing facility
to the students and staff of the
University, it took more than fifteen
years to transform it to a fullfledged
Centre for Information
Technology with the latest ICT
facilities and services. Ever since
its inception, the Centre has
played pivotal role in developing
and implementing ICT services
and applications in Jamia. To offer
ICT services to the end users in
the University, it has established a
campus wide network of 6000
nodes. In addition, for easy access
to applications and services, the
Centre has setup a number of WiFi
hotspots within the university
Campus. The Centre has also
implemented University
Management Information System
and it manages the University
portal which has been developed
recently. E-Mailing facility is being
provided to the faculty and staff
through Google Apps. The Centre
has also been providing some
important e-Governance services
to its employees.
It is commendable to note that in
the World Education Summit 2011
held at New Delhi during July 13-
15, 2011, Jamia Millia Islamia
received the best jury award for
ICT enabled Institution of Higher
Learning. The award was given to
the University for the “File
Tracking System (FTS)” utility
developed and implemented by its
Centre the FTK Centre for
Information Technology.
About the Conference
The overwhelming success of
Conferences on Sustainable
Development & Management
of Information Technology in
Universities and Colleges
organized by FTK-CIT , Jamia
Millia Islamia in 2009 and 2010
has encouraged us to provide
the same platform to all ICT
Professionals working in Indian
Universities and colleges once
again. OSACC-2012 is a
national conference on

Computing. It will provide an
