This fall, every teacher in Virginia, whe<strong>the</strong>r public, private or<br />

home school, will have free access to thousands of learning<br />

objects, thanks to <strong>WHRO</strong> and eMediaVA, Virginia’s premier statewide<br />

digital learning repository.<br />

Developed by <strong>WHRO</strong> and brought to you by Virginia’s Public<br />

Media Stations, eMediaVA features <strong>the</strong> best purpose-built educational<br />

content available from resources that teachers can trust -<br />

resources like PBS Learning Media, The Smithsonian, NASA and<br />

The National Archives. More are added every day.<br />

With content for all subjects and grade levels, eMediaVA is a<br />

“one-stop shop” for educators and <strong>the</strong> material is correlated to<br />

Virginia’s Standards of Learning. Easy to use and readily accessible<br />

tools make <strong>the</strong> content searchable by keyword, grade level,<br />

subject or SOL, saving teachers valuable time. Instead of spending<br />

hours searching for <strong>the</strong> right video clip to go with a lesson, <strong>the</strong>y<br />

again in “Jefferson vs. Hamilton – A<br />

Rematch” Friday, October 19, 2012 at<br />

<strong>the</strong> TCC Roper Performing Arts Center.<br />

Showtime is 7pm and will be followed by<br />

a Q&A with Jefferson and Hamilton.<br />

eMediaVA is constantly evolving to better meet <strong>the</strong> needs of<br />

Virginia’s teachers and students. In its updated version coming this<br />

fall, <strong>the</strong> system will feature more than just video: everything from<br />

interactive games to simulations to flash animations will be available<br />

for teachers to use in <strong>the</strong>ir classrooms, making lessons more<br />

engaging and students more excited about learning.<br />
