The Crown Hotel is situated in the ideal location for
a relaxing winter break over the festive period.
Nestled in the pretty village of Wetheral, close to the
River Eden, we offer our guests an opportunity to
experience first class hospitality, excellent cuisine and
fine wines.
Our Chef has taken great care with the Christmas and
New Year menus. He has ensured that as much local
produce as possible will be used to produce the Crown's
choice of traditional fayre.The packages have been put
together in a way where you have plenty of time to
relax and unwind, however there is a good variety of
entertainment and activities organised to ensure that
your stay is memorable.

CHRISTMAS PACKAGE
Christmas Eve ~
The atmosphere of the Crown will ensure that you start to
unwind as soon as you have arrived, and from this moment on
'nothing will be too much trouble'. What better way to start
your break than with a traditional Cumbrian afternoon tea,
where you can sample our home baked cakes and sandwiches.
If you have time you can even finish off the last minute
shopping in the beautifully decorated city centre. Carlisle has a
great selection of both high street stores and many select gift
and craft shops. In the evening, enjoy a glass of hot mulled
wine before a candlelit dinner in the Conservatory Restaurant,
where you will be joined by the local carol choir. As santa
comes tonight, you may feel like an early night - however, if
not, the Conservatory bar will be open to look after you.

Christmas Day ~
For the early risers, a full Cumbrian Breakfast is being served with
a glass of Bucks Fizz, between 7.30am ~ 9.30am.You will then
have time before your Christmas Luncheon to go for a ramble
around the village, or take one of our walking maps and explore a
bit further afield whilst working up an appetite. A glass of
Champagne will be served to put you in the mood for lunch
which is served in our Garden Suite, which overlooks the beautiful
secluded landscaped gardens. Our Chef has taken great care to
create a splendid traditional Christmas Lunch menu, and he will be
on hand to carve the turkey and ensure that you enjoy your meal.
Father Christmas will also be making a guest appearance to ensure
that all of our younger guests are enjoying their day, and if they are
lucky he may have something for them ~ that is if they have been
good all year!
Relax and unwind after lunch in one of the lounges, tune into the
Queens Speech or enjoy the comforting temperatures of the
leisure club. Alternatively you may wish to enjoy a gentle stroll
down by the River Eden or through Wetheral Woods in order to
walk off your lunch! Additionally, there will be numerous board
games on hand for all ages to enjoy and keep the little grey cells
busy! Alternatively make use of our games room with a games
console, DVD and games.
A relaxed buffet dinner will be served in our Conservatory
Restaurant, whilst being gently entertained by our resident pianist.

Boxing Day ~
This will be a more relaxing day for you, and it gets
underway with a full Cumbrian Breakfast.You can take part
in our Treasure Hunt, which has been designed to test your
observation skills as well as the ability to work as a team. It
promises to be great fun!! A candlelit dinner is being served
in the Conservatory Restaurant, in the evening, and by
popular demand our tabletop magician will be back with us
again to keep you lightly entertained. There will also be an
opportunity for you to join in our 'Big Cash Win' quiz which
takes place in Walton's Bar.
27th December ~
Rise to a hearty Cumbrian breakfast, and enjoy your final
morning before checking out. You may even have time for
a relaxing swim or even a spot of lunch in Walton's Bar.

NEW YEAR PACKAGE
30th December ~
After unpacking and settling into your room, enjoy the
full splendour of our Cumbrian afternoon tea, with
homemade cakes and sandwiches ~ however remember that
you have to eat again later in the day! The leisure club
allows you the opportunity to recharge your batteries,
you can have a swim, relax in the jacuzzi or just put your
feet up by the edge of the pool. In the evening a candlelit
dinner is being served in the Conservatory Restaurant,
where you will be gently entertained by our resident
musician.
As this has been a gentle day, we anticipate that many of
our guests will wish to 'have an early night' in
anticipation of a late New Years Eve, however if this is
not the case our Conservatory Bar will be open to look
after you.

New Year’s Day ~
For the early risers a continental breakfast is being served in
the Conservatory Restaurant between 8.00am ~ 10.00am
and for the late risers we have our renowned Jazz Brunch
being served from 11.00am ~ 12.30 pm. A glass of Bucks
Fizz will blow away the cobwebs from the previous evening
and this will allow you to enjoy the music from the Segretta
Stompers Jazz Band.
In the evening you can enjoy a candlelit dinner in the
tranquil setting of the Conservatory Restaurant where you
can enjoy your meal in the company of our Harpist.
2nd January ~
Rise to a hearty Cumbrian breakfast, and enjoy your final
morning before checking out. You may even have time for
a relaxing swim or even a spot of lunch in Walton's Bar.

Following the success of last year we aim to ensure that the children
have as much fun as the adults. This year we have arranged more
supervised activities for longer periods of time, therefore allowing the
parents an element of 'free' time. We will have an itinerary of
activities in place, and we shall send you a copy.
We offer a separate mealtime in the evening for the
children, with a children's menu should they wish to eat separately
from their parents ~ these are being served on request between
5.30pm & 6.30 pm each evening.

From the M6 Travelling North
Leave M6 at Junction 42. At the roundabout at the top of the slip road, take the
third exit, the B6263, signed Wetheral. Stay on this road for about two miles,
passing through Cumwhinton, until you reach Wetheral. Just after the village
green, turn right by the general store. Take the next left turn into the hotel car park
From the M6 Travelling South
Leave M6 at Junction 43. At the roundabout at the top of the slip road, take the
A69 towards Brampton and Newcastle. After about three quarters of a mile, turn
right onto the B6263 to Wetheral. Once in the village, turn left at the village store,
before the village green. Take next left into the hotel car park.
