Powered by <strong>Touch</strong> <strong>Bionics</strong>’ biosim software, the i-limb ultra<br />
is the most versatile prosthetic hand available, providing the<br />
ability to customize the hand for a broad range of activities.<br />
Utilizing its pulsing and Vari-grip features,<br />
the i-limb ultra is the only prosthetic hand<br />
with the ability to gradually increase the<br />
strength of its grip on an object.<br />

a thin layer of semi-transparent,<br />
flesh colored or black material<br />
that has been designed to<br />
conform to every contour<br />
of the hand.<br />
<strong>Touch</strong> <strong>Bionics</strong> introduces virtu-limb,<br />
the ground breaking simulation and training<br />
product for myoelectric upper limb prostheses.<br />
This product can be used with or without the i-limb ultra<br />
prosthetic hand, with the option of using an on-screen<br />
virtual representation of an i-limb ultra.<br />
The virtu-limb system connects wirelessly to your PC via Bluetooth<br />
software and allows you to control an i-limb ultra or its virtual<br />
representation through the provided electrodes or FSR touchpads.<br />
virtu-limb can be used for a variety of purposes:<br />
• Measuring patients’ myoelectric signals to determine<br />
the best muscle sites for their prosthesis<br />
• Training patients how to control their muscle signals<br />
• Training patients how to use the i-limb ultra features<br />
• Demonstrating i-limb ultra to potential patients<br />
i-limb digits is the fully customized electronic prosthesis<br />
for people with missing fingers or partial hands.<br />
With i-limb digits, anywhere from one to five missing fingers can<br />
be replaced with one of our individually powered prosthetic digits.<br />
These digits, which move independently and bend at the joints,<br />
work in conjunction with any remaining fingers to help increase<br />
functional capabilities.<br />
Every person with missing digits is unique and so each i-limb digits<br />
solution is custom made to fit. There are many different ways to create<br />
an i-limb digits prosthesis, but the goal is always the same: to provide<br />
a solution that will help increase function and independence.<br />

Software<br />
<strong>Touch</strong> <strong>Bionics</strong> has developed the biosim-i software<br />
interface for people who use the i-limb ultra, connecting<br />
via a Bluetooth ® wireless connection and providing a range<br />
of control options and training features.<br />
Patients can use biosim-i to select the grip patterns and hand<br />
features required, including the option to create custom gestures.<br />
Built-in training modes are included to help them achieve better<br />
results with their prosthesis.<br />
Selecting the “health check” mode diagnoses the hand to ensure<br />
it is functioning as it should, or if the patient should contact their<br />
prosthetist to arrange for a service.<br />
Designed for use by clinical professionals, biosim-pro<br />
is a software tool that provides enhanced features and<br />
control settings for i-limb ultra and i-limb digits devices.<br />
biosim-pro provides prosthetists and therapists with the ability<br />
to help their patients select the grip patterns and hand features<br />
that best suit their daily needs.<br />
Clinicians can use biosim-pro to access usage information for<br />
<strong>Touch</strong> <strong>Bionics</strong>’ prostheses, which provides useful insight into how<br />
their patients are using the device, and can provide diagnostic<br />
information regarding the relative health of the prosthesis.<br />
The software also contains training modes, which clinicians can<br />
use to help patients practise how to activate triggers and achieve<br />
greater levels of competence with their device.<br />
Passive prostheses<br />
Hand crafted from high definition silicone and hand painted<br />
to match skin tone and appearance, our livingskin prostheses<br />
are very realistic. We can create livingskin prostheses for<br />
parts of fingers, whole fingers, hands and entire arms.<br />
At <strong>Touch</strong> <strong>Bionics</strong>, we take care to ensure that the detail of these<br />
prostheses is remarkable, introducing features such as freckles,<br />
hairs and tattoos. A livingskin prosthesis is designed to<br />
be unnoticed.<br />
In addition to the realistic appearance of our livingskin products,<br />
it’s important to remember that passive prostheses like these still<br />
have functional capabilities. This includes actions such as pushing,<br />
pulling, stabilizing, supporting, light grasping and typing.<br />
living image is an advanced color acquisition system that captures<br />
accurate skin tone, features and shape, in a single calibrated and<br />
light-controlled device. This patent-pending technology removes<br />
the need for previously time-consuming and error-prone color<br />
matching practices.<br />
