with the Fullerton Chamber of Commerce
A cornerstone of the Fullerton Chamber of Commerce is the
networking opportunity for members and potential members in
the community. With over 150 hours each year devoted primarily
to networking events, members with the busiest of schedules can
find something that suits their needs.

Weekly Networking Luncheons
In a year’s time, over 250 referrals were reported at the
luncheons signaling that business is exchanged among
members through this trusted network. Members and guests of
the Fullerton Chamber of Commerce have the opportunity to make
connections and generate business leads at the weekly Tuesday
Networking Luncheons. The luncheons, held at various member
locations from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., offer members a chance to promote
their business in a 30-second commercial as well as opportunities
to be the featured speaker for a 20-minute presentation. Call the

Happy Hour Networking
For the busy professionals who enjoy leaving the office early
on Friday but still work through the five o’clock whistle, the
Chamber of Commerce has developed Happy Hour Networking:
a monthly event featuring member restaurants throughout the
year. Attendees are encouraged to bring plenty of business cards to
network while sampling the fare of a local restaurant. Happy Hour
Networking Fridays are held the first Friday of each month from
4-6 p.m. Contact the Chamber for upcoming locations.

Monthly Sunset Mixers
For business owners who cannot attend Tuesday
luncheons, the monthly Sunset Mixer, held the second
Wednesday of each month from 5-7 p.m., offers attendees an
evening networking opportunity in a casual, after-hours
setting. Sunset Mixers average an attendance between 100-150
individuals and are held at various member venues allowing the
host to showcase their business. Some mixers have stood the test
of time and become an annual tradition, as is the case with Richey
Advisors, Inc., whose November Sunset Mixer is anticipated
yearly. “It’s an opportunity for the business community to network
together, and for me to thank my customers for the past year,”
remarked President J.H. Richey.

Young Professionals
The Young Professionals program was created to cultivate
the next generation of civic and business leaders. Tailored
to the business person under 40, the group is designed to provide
business contacts, professional growth, and valuable information
to the young professional. Events with this group include lessons
in public speaking, dining and etiquette, golf, and wine tasting,
as well as social media marketing and cooking lessons. We
encourage all member businesses to look to their own staff for
representatives who may benefit from engaging in this facet of
the Fullerton Chamber of Commerce.

Business Expo
As the premiere voice of business in North Orange County, the
Fullerton Chamber of Commerce strives to offer every opportunity
for its members and the community to highlight their products and
services at an annual business expo. In years past, the Chamber
has included workshops for the budding entrepreneur as well
as a luncheon featuring a keynote speaker. Look for upcoming
information on the next business expo in spring 2012:
Live, Work, Play—Fullerton.
State of the City
Each year, the Fullerton Chamber of Commerce partners with the
City of Fullerton to present the annual State of the City luncheon, an
event featuring the Mayor of Fullerton, Sharon Quirk-Silva, among
other speakers who discuss the future of Fullerton. Become an
insider by hearing what goals your local government leaders have
set and how they plan to achieve them on March 29, 2012.
Presidents’ Business Achievement Awards
One of the programs the Fullerton Chamber of Commerce has kept
alive for over 20 years is the Business Achievement Awards, an
evening honoring the small, medium, and large businesses of the
year. Now led by the Chamber’s past Presidents and Board Chairs,
this event also incorporates the Quality of Life Award, given to a
nonprofit organization, and the Hawkins Business Leadership Award,
awarded to an individual displaying dedication and investment in
the Fullerton business community.
The Presidents’ Business Achievement Awards recognizes business
owners who have gone above and beyond to serve businesses and
the Fullerton community. Each year, these businesses and non-profit
organizations are honored at the Summit House Restaurant among
their peers and alongside the Board of Directors’ installation. The
2012 event will be held June 20, 2012 and nominations are now open!

Highlighting our members’ achievements as business
entrepreneurs, educators, leaders in their industry, and investors in
the community brings value to our membership at large, and keeps
Fullerton at the forefront of where to do business.
Salute to Education
Fullerton is the “Education Community,” and the Fullerton Chamber
of Commerce seeks to honor those individuals who make a difference
in workforce development and education. Since the establishment
of the McGarvey Scholarship Fund and the Fullerton Chamber
of Commerce Scholarship Foundation, the Fullerton Chamber of
Commerce has awarded scholarships to graduating high school
seniors and college students conferred as Young Citizens of the Year.
Members have the opportunity to make a donation to the scholarship
fund at each membership renewal as a voluntary business expense.
In the past year, nearly 150 members helped to fund the scholarship
program, making it possible to award students with the opportunity
to further their education. The esteemed award is selected through
specific criteria, including community involvement, ethics, service,
innovation, and leadership.
Since 1979, the Fullerton Chamber of Commerce has also been
recognizing outstanding individuals who have made a difference
in the education of young people with the honor of Educator of the
Year. This award is based on specific criteria, including service, ethics,
innovation, community involvement and leadership. Past recipients
include librarians, teachers, board members, former senators,
superintendents, principals, and those bridging business with
education. The Fullerton Chamber of Commerce salutes its educators
for keeping the Education Community alive!

breakfasts and luncheons to offer updates on issues stemming
