Opening Statement:
Ladies and Gentlemen, pursuant to the applicable portions of the New Jersey Open Public
Meetings Act, adequate notice of this meeting has been given. The schedule for this Meeting of
the Governing Body of the Borough of Beachwood is listed in the notice of meetings posted on
the Bulletin Board located in the Municipal Complex and delivered to the Ocean County Observer
and the Asbury Park Press on January 2, 2003.

We ask for a Moment of Silence as each in our own way honor of our men and
women in military action who have lost their lives in service to our Nation and
offer a silent prayer for peace and a swift return of all our other service personnel.
PROPOSED ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF BEACHWOOD, OCEAN COUNTY,
NEW JERSEY IMPLEMENTING AN ORDINANCE TO REGULATE THE
CONSTRUCTION OF FENCES WITHIN THE BOROUGH TO REPEAL
INCONSISTENT ORDINANCES AND ESTABLISH PENAL TIES FOR
VIOLATION THEREOF
Mrs. Moran Questioned corner restrictions. The Clerk will contact the Attorney and will
request clarification.
PROPOSED ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF BEACHWOOD, OCEAN COUNTY,
NEW JERSEY TO REPEAL AND REPLACE CHAPTER XIII ENTITLED
"SIGNS" AND TO ESTABLISH PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF
Political Sign shall mean a temporary sign announcing
or supporting political candidates or issues in connection
with any national, state, county or local election. Such a
sign shall not exceed 16 square feet in area. A political

sign shall be permitted within 30 days prior to any
national, state, county, or local election and shall be
removed within 5 days after the election.
Mr. LaCrosse – requested that the following language be
added to the definition of Political signs:
No political signs shall be erected on any municipal
property.
Engineering Request: To address situation at Public Works with “leaking roof”. Problem is bad.
Structural Engineer should make decision. Proposals need to be reviewed
by Engineer to determine which is best.
a. Joe Zuromski feels just fix with “wrap”
Mrs. Moran: Waste of $2,200.00 – go with Summit Roofing who is prepared to address
metal roof.

J. Zuromski New compost center nearly done should be opening very soon.
Route 9 Gazebo sod has been placed and completed.
Sanitation truck has been sidelined. Needs body repairs at possible cost of
$8 – 10, 000 dollars. Re-built body is available at $16,000. Has placed a
hold on the available re-built and will research funds with Chris.
Finished Mayo Park Playground mulching.
Met with Eagle Scout regarding bumper barricades.
Setting lines for walkers on Cherry Street.
Mermaid Avenue repairs scheduled for 10/28.
