Ladies and Gentlemen, pursuant to the applicable portions <strong>of</strong> the New Jersey Open Public<br />
Meetings Act, adequate notice <strong>of</strong> this meeting has been given. <strong>The</strong> schedule for this Meeting <strong>of</strong><br />
the Governing Body <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Borough</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Beachwood</strong> is listed in the notice <strong>of</strong> meetings posted on<br />
the Bulletin Board located in the Municipal Complex and delivered to the Ocean County Observer<br />
and the Asbury Park Press on January 2, <strong>2003</strong>.<br />

PROPOSED ORDINANCE<br />
AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF BEACHWOOD, OCEAN COUNTY,<br />
NEW JERSEY IMPLEMENTING AN ORDINANCE TO REGULATE THE<br />
CONSTRUCTION OF FENCES WITHIN THE BOROUGH TO REPEAL<br />
INCONSISTENT ORDINANCES AND ESTABLISH PENAL TIES FOR<br />
VIOLATION THEREOF<br />
Mrs. Moran Questioned corner restrictions. <strong>The</strong> Clerk will contact the Attorney and will<br />
request clarification.<br />
PROPOSED ORDINANCE<br />
AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF BEACHWOOD, OCEAN COUNTY,<br />
NEW JERSEY TO REPEAL AND REPLACE CHAPTER XIII ENTITLED<br />
"SIGNS" AND TO ESTABLISH PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF<br />
Political Sign shall mean a temporary sign announcing<br />
or supporting political candidates or issues in connection<br />
with any national, state, county or local election. Such a<br />
sign shall not exceed 16 square feet in area. A political<br />
<strong>October</strong> <strong>22</strong>, <strong>2003</strong><br />

sign shall be permitted within 30 days prior to any<br />
national, state, county, or local election and shall be<br />
removed within 5 days after the election.<br />
Mr. LaCrosse – requested that the following language be<br />
added to the definition <strong>of</strong> Political signs:<br />
No political signs shall be erected on any municipal<br />
property.<br />
Engineering Request: To address situation at Public Works with “leaking ro<strong>of</strong>”. Problem is bad.<br />
Structural Engineer should make decision. Proposals need to be reviewed<br />
by Engineer to determine which is best.<br />
a. Joe Zuromski feels just fix with “wrap”<br />
Mrs. Moran: Waste <strong>of</strong> $2,200.00 – go with Summit Ro<strong>of</strong>ing who is prepared to address<br />
metal ro<strong>of</strong>.<br />

J. Zuromski New compost center nearly done should be opening very soon.<br />
Route 9 Gazebo sod has been placed and completed.<br />
Sanitation truck has been sidelined. Needs body repairs at possible cost <strong>of</strong><br />
$8 – 10, 000 dollars. Re-built body is available at $16,000. Has placed a<br />
hold on the available re-built and will research funds with Chris.<br />
Finished Mayo Park Playground mulching.<br />
Met with Eagle Scout regarding bumper barricades.<br />
Setting lines for walkers on Cherry Street.<br />
Mermaid Avenue repairs scheduled for 10/28.<br />
