Developmental Biology<br />
<strong>Research</strong> in the CDB department is structured into three strategic areas:<br />
- the early steps in the establishment of the embryonic lineages,<br />
- the origin, differentiation and patterning of cardiovascular cell lineages,<br />
- the integration of signaling pathways in cardiac development, homeostasis<br />
and disease.<br />
These processes are studied in chick, mouse and zebrafish animal models<br />
through a variety of complementary experimental approaches including cell<br />
biology, imaging, global gene expression analysis and biochemistry.<br />
