Embroidery Design Service<br />
Stitchitize is a professional design studio that has produced over 50,000 embroidered <strong>designs</strong> since 1984.<br />
Stitchitize is the design development division of a family business started by Wendy and George Conquergood<br />
that has now grown to over 20 employees. Their sons, Trevor and Carl, and daughter Andrea, have<br />
all become involved in the company over the years. Trevor, the manager of Stitchitize Embroidery Design<br />
Service, produces Club Stitchitize, and the Learning Studio. Carl is the design manager of Custom<br />
Digitizing, producing embroidery <strong>designs</strong> for consumers and corporate clients alike. Stitchitize has a<br />
design team of 10 people all working full-time on creating embroidery <strong>designs</strong>. The information exchange<br />
between our artists and designers is incredible, promoting new ideas all the time. Since we all look at<br />
things in life from different perspectives, this information exchange is valuable to the development of a well<br />
rounded digitizer. This combined knowledge of embroidery design creation is now available online<br />
through the Embroidery Design Learning Studio, a separate site with paid membership. Club Stitchitize,<br />
the customer appreciation part of our website, combines free <strong>designs</strong> with photos of our family. Trevor<br />
travels extensively to teach the Stitchitize Embroidery Design Road Show, a class about the art of<br />
digitizing, check our site for a class near you. Stitchitize has spent many years creating a collection of<br />
stock embroidery <strong>designs</strong> that you will love to sew. These <strong>designs</strong> are available online or through one of<br />

- Locate the embroidery design in desired format under the Embroidery Designs<br />
folder.<br />
- Open the embroidery design and prepare to sew using your usual method/ software.<br />
- View/Print the design sewing instructions in .html format from the Printable Pages<br />
folder.<br />
- A full-colour 8.5” x 11” catalogue can be found and printed from the Printable Pages<br />
folder. Due to file size, it is recommended that you save this file to your computer.<br />

MacroHoop Instructions<br />
* Please note: All MacroHoop instructions are available for viewing and printing in .<strong>pdf</strong> format on the CD.<br />
The MacroHoop dimensions are 28cm H x 20cm W (11” x 7.9”). This<br />
equates to two 20cm x 20cm square hoops with a 12cm (4.7") overlap.<br />
There are two ways to get the MacroHoop <strong>designs</strong> from this CD onto<br />
your machine and ready to sew.<br />
1. <strong>Elna</strong> Customizer EX<br />
If you have <strong>Elna</strong> Customizer EX<br />
installed on your computer,<br />
the MacroHoop <strong>designs</strong> can<br />
be opened by clicking on the<br />
“Open” folder icon.<br />
The design can be saved to an ATA PC card or sent directly to your machine<br />
2. Drag and Drop<br />
If <strong>Elna</strong> Customizer EX is not available for use, the MacroHoop<br />
<strong>designs</strong> can be saved to your ATA PC card by locating and<br />
opening the CD in Windows Explorer. Click, Hold and Drag<br />
the design to the EMB folder on your card.<br />
SEWING WITH MACROHOOP<br />
Hooping for the MacroHoop requires extra stability due to<br />
the larger sewing field. It is recommended that the fabric<br />
be prepared for embroidery with iron-on fusible larger than<br />
the hoop area OR a medium weight cut-away stabilizer<br />
(backing) be hooped with the fabric, together in the hoop.<br />
In addition, a layer of medium weight tearaway can be slid<br />
under the hoop for optimum stabilization of fabric and<br />
stitches.<br />
Once the <strong>designs</strong> are ready to sew and the fabric<br />
is prepared and hooped in the MacroHoop, shift<br />
the frame to position 1 and attach to machine.<br />
Search your computer for the CD drive, locate the design that you want to<br />
sew and open it on your Customizer screen.<br />
Place the plastic template (provided with the<br />
hoop) into the six notches on the inner hoop ring.<br />
Use the four "jog" keys on the screen:
Move the hoop until the needle passes through<br />
the Exact Center of the "Starting Point" hole in<br />
the template.<br />
Detach the hoop from the machine and shift the<br />
frame to position 2 and reattach to machine.<br />

Remove the plastic template and start sewing the<br />
design. Follow the colour stops to sew the entire first<br />
design. When it is complete you will be prompted to "lift<br />
presser foot and shift frame".<br />
Be sure to follow the same steps with the plastic<br />
template (needle passing through exact center of<br />
starting point) for the second side of the design. This<br />
will ensure that both sides will line up correctly.<br />
Remove the plastic template and start sewing the design. Follow the colour stops to sew the entire second<br />
design.<br />
Please Note: When reading this CD from the <strong>Elna</strong> external CD-ROM drive, MacroHoop <strong>designs</strong> will<br />
display and sew as one complete design. The machine may not indicate when to Shift Frame. In order to<br />
Shift Frame to hoop position #2 at the correct stop in the design, you will need to follow the sewing sequence<br />
for the design found in the "Printable Pages" folder under "Sewing Sequences". Shift Frame to position #2<br />
at Side Two as indicated on the sewing sequence.<br />
