Bonding
EMS-EFTEC supplies the automotive
manufacturers with adhesives
for use at every stage of production,
from body shop to final
assembly.
One important example is the
bonding of fixed windows.
EMS-EFTEC bonding systems
based on polyurethane enable
assembly to be automated,
lend added strength to the body
and help to reduce aerodynamic
drag.
Coating
Car manufacturers use EMS-
EFTEC coatings to protect against
chip damage in vulnerable areas
such as the underbody. These
mastic compounds are extremely
resilient to both mechanical and
chemical attack.
Metal surfaces within cavities in
the bodywork are protected from
corrosion by the use of waxes.
Damping
Pumpable sound deadening
materials developed by EMS-
EFTEC offer with an automatic
application a cost-efficient
solution to improve the comfort
in a car.
Sealing
The seams encountered in the
complex structure of a motor
vehicle must be permanently
sealed against the intrusion of
moisture, dirt and noise. The
sealant must also provide
corrosion protection to the metals
actually being joined. In this
sector it is essential that the
products supplied are of highly
consistent quality, thus enabling
them to be applied fully automatically,
and hence cost-effectively.
