The men of Phi Delta Theta continued
their interest in supporting community
service frojects by donating the proceeds
o the 13th annuol Phi Del+ Turtle
Derby to the Steven T eichgraeber fund.
The $500 raised by the 14th running of
the turtle race went to the Latah County
Nursing Home.
Other Phi Delt activities repeated in
1969-70 ond 1970-7 1 included an initiation
formal, pledge pajamo dance,
spring cruise, and gamblers fireside.
Phi Delts were athleticolly active both
years. All conference team selections
honored Mark Cooper in tennis,· Jim
Dean in swimming, and Mark Cooper in
golf. Steve Martin played Vandal baseboll.
Gary Paterson, basketboll. and
Steve Olson, football.
Ron Roberts joined Olson for football
honors, Don Homlin scored on the
tenn is court, and Keith Fernandez. Rick
Clute, and Mark Mohnert wrest led.
