From the Director<br />

Forty programs, each under $40.That's our theme for this summer.<br />

Beginning June 24th, our summer adventures will begin - and every<br />

program we are <strong>of</strong>fering is less than 40 bucks. There is something<br />

for everyone from trips to the beach to New York City.We're bringing<br />

back some tried and true favorites that we've been doing for<br />

more than 15 years such as river tubing and Six Flags and have added<br />

brand new outings too - like Phazerball and Indoor Skydiving!<br />

The Youth Service Bureau aims to provide a variety <strong>of</strong> services that<br />

will <strong>of</strong>fer youth the opportunity to develop in a positive way so that<br />

they may reach their full potential as healthy members <strong>of</strong> society.<br />

Our programs aim to give young people the chance to build skills,<br />

exercise leadership, form relationships with caring adults, and help<br />

their communities.We believe that positive growth & development<br />

are fostered when adolescents develop a sense <strong>of</strong> competency, a<br />

feeling <strong>of</strong> connectedness to others, and the belief that they control<br />

their fate in life. This framework places value on young people<br />

regardless <strong>of</strong> their situations and emphasizes their strengths and<br />

potential.<br />

During the summer we <strong>of</strong>fer a variety <strong>of</strong> programs including an<br />

intergenerational program, community service groups and recreational/cultural<br />

programs that provide youth with opportunities to<br />

try out new experiences, engage in positive peer interaction, and<br />

have fun in a safe and supervised environment.<br />

At Youth Services, we have been providing safe, high-quality, affordable<br />

summer programs for <strong>Colchester</strong> teens for many years,and we<br />

are looking forward to the best summer yet! Don't forget to register<br />

early because all <strong>of</strong> our trips fill to capacity - so don't miss out.<br />

<strong>of</strong> programs and services designed to improve the quality <strong>of</strong> life<br />

for the youth, families andindividuals in <strong>Colchester</strong>.<br />

The Youth & Social Services <strong>of</strong>fices are located<br />

in the <strong>Town</strong> Hall, Suite 205. Questions and comments<br />
