Harvest Festival in Perfect Harmony
Harvest
by Anya Gunn De Marcos
Hear the wind whistling through the
leaves
Acorns falling from the trees
Red squirrels gathering nuts to save
For winter’s coming, they must be
brave
Very cold air against my face
Every leaf red, orange and brown, all
over this place
Sizzling chestnuts delicious to eat
This time of year is a beautiful treat
Harvest
by Jasmine Jolly
Harvest time is here once more.
Autumn tractors always roar.
Red and gold are the colours on show.
Vivid and bright with sun setting low.
Everybody helps to harvest the crops.
So that the fruit and veg can be sold at
the shops.
Tomorrow we will harvest again.
Harvest Time
by Isobel Brown
I can hear:
The trees gently swaying,
Leaves softly falling,
Tractors slowly ploughing the fields,
Conkers smashing to the ground,
Birds singing sweet songs,
Children playing in the red Autumn
leaves.
I can smell:
Damp soil,
The farmer’s wife baking bread,
Grey smoke rising from the chimneys,
Damp leaves,
Freshly cut fields of grass.
I can feel:
The chill in the air,
Autumn wind and rain on my face,
The breeze bringing Winter along.
