Oklo Mali Phosphate
Samit Project (formerly Tatteul)
Projects: Mali - Samit
Located in NE Mali near the
Niger River and town of Gao.
 Through its wholly owned
Malian subsidiary La Société
Oklo Uranium Limited Mali
Sarl, Oklo has been granted a
Convention for the exploration
and mining of Phosphate and
other Group 2 minerals under
the Malian mining code for a
term of 30 years and covering
an area of 530km 2 .
 Phosphate-bearing Eocene
beds occur extensively
throughout the project area
forming contiguous outcrop
over 180km.
Projects: Mali – Samit
Projects: Mali – Samit (formerly Tatteul)
 Area of recent
exploration where
a deposit has
been identified
 Phosphatebearing
Eocene
beds continue to
surface and are
expected to occur
at shallow depths
“down dip” in the
central and SE
areas.
Projects: Mali – Samit (The “Plateau Deposit”)
 Work completed in January 2010
discovered a discrete phosphate
deposit ranging in potential tonnage
from 10 million – 20 million tonnes
with a grade of around 20% P 2O 5
(terminology used in accordance
with the JORC code).
A series of pits exposed the
phosphate beds where they were
not occurring at the surface.
 The “Plateau Deposit” covers an
area of 9 km 2 and is up to 1.9m
thick with grades up to 31% P 2O 5.
Results of an independent scoping study
(GEOS Mining Consultants):
 Recommend further development
Projects: Mali - Samit
Confirm “Plateau Deposit” potential of b/n
10Mt and 20Mt tonnes at 20% P 2O 5;
 Confirm additional resource potential within
the broader project area;
 Confirm local market for phosphate
fertiliser sales;
Estimate base case production scenario of
150,000 tonnes per annum with CAPEX of
+/- AUD17.5m.
Projects: Mali - Samit
Global Phosphate Industry
Phosphate rock is the primary source
for phosphorus – one of three
elements critical to plant growth
(along with nitrogen and potassium).
90% of phosphate mined is used in
fertilisers.
 Other uses include animal feed
supplements, food preservatives,
anti-corrosion agents, cosmetics,
fungicides, ceramics, water treatment
and metallurgy.
There is no substitute for phosphorus
in agriculture.
 Phosphate from mineral deposits is
the only source of phosphate used in
the manufacture of fertilisers.
 Phosphate rock is a non-renewable
resource.
 Growth in demand for
phosphate to stem
from:
◦ Global population
growth
◦ Global rise in income
◦ Demand for bio-fuels
◦ Decreasing supply of
arable land creating a
need for increased
yields
◦ Higher fuel costs
creating a need for
Australia: Rare Earths &
Phosphate
Killi Killi South & Burke River Projects
Projects: Rare Earths – Killi Killi South
Oklo’s Killi Killi South project is adjacent to Orion Metals
(ASX:ORM) Killi Killi Rare Earths Prospect and is
located on the Northern Territory Side of the W.A / N.T
border.
In Sept. 2010, Orion announced high grade heavy rare
earths elements (HREE), uranium and gold results from
a reconnaissance rock chip programme conducted on
their tenements.
Subsequently, Orion announced that the HREE
mineralisation at Killi Killi is indicative of hydrothermal
activity.
Oklo considers that such hydrothermal activity is most
likely related to the intrusion of Proterozoic granites into
the Archaean Killi Killi beds, which occur in the vicinity.
Projects: Rare Earths – Killi Killi South
Intrusive granite occurs below shallow subcropping
Killi Killi Beds in Oklo’s project area.
Based on the current understanding of Orion’s
HREE mineralisation, the Killi Killi Beds in proximity
to this granite, constitute a high priority target.
Oklo intends to carry out an airborne geophysical
survey over the entire 144km 2 Killi Killi South
project area in Q1 2011.
Resulting high resolution magnetic data and
radiometric data will be used to identify rare earths
structures and targets for follow up ground work.
Projects: Phosphate – Burke River
The Burke River project is located near Mt
Isa, Queensland.
Phosphate is currently mined at Phosphate
Hill, approximately 30km south of Burke
River.
Originally selected for its Uranium potential
(both surfical and phosphate related types),
GEOS undertook a review of the potential of
this tenement hosting phosphate and
recommended further exploration.
 Further exploration to be undertaken.
Australia: Mithril
