• Worship settings at Divine Redeemer are designed so that families have the opportunity
to worship together. We invite parents with children 6 months to 3 years of age to take advantage
of our Nursery when needed, during the Traditional or the Contemporary Worship
Do I believe I am a sinner and am I sorry for my sins?
Do I earnestly intend with the help of God to amend my sinful life?
Do I believe Christ’s true body and blood to be present in the Lord’s Supper for the
forgiveness of sins?
If you are physically unable to come forward for Communion: Please let an usher know
and the pastor will come to you and give you Communion.
Caring Hearts Fund ~ The Nehemiah Outreach Team has been diligently reaching out into the community
in many ways. Recently, we have been finding ways to assist a family from our community; and
while doing so, God has opened our eyes to more and more needs of those around us. Because of this,
the Outreach Team is inviting the congregation to participate in our current effort to benefit this family, as
well as others in the future. Whether it is through $1.00, $10.00, $100.00 or more, we believe the Lord
is presenting a number of possibilities of what we can do for others. Please make donations to Divine
Redeemer’s Caring Hearts fund. Checks may be made out to Divine Redeemer with a note in the memo
line: Caring Heart. Thank you for your giving spirit!
Clothing Drive ~ Garrett Becker is working on the rank of Eagle Scout. His project, which runs from
Dec 1 to Dec 31, 2012, is a clothing drive to benefit the HOPE CENTER in Waukesha. HOPE CEN-
TER provides clothing and other assistance to homeless and low income people in Waukesha County.
A collection barrel is located in the hallway between the church and school. Garrett’s goal is to collect
over 200 pieces of clothing for HOPE CENTER. Current needs are: Winter jackets/coats, gloves, hats/
caps, sweaters, sweatshirts, sweatpants, shoes/boots, long-sleeved shirts, long pants/jeans, scarves,
and NEW underwear & socks for men, women, and children.
Learn, Lead”. We know you will be blessed through the teachings of LCMS pastors’ wives Amy Meyer
and Gail Ficken. Your registration includes two breakfasts and a lunch buffet. Our goal is to connect
you with Jesus and other girlfriends in a relaxed setting...away from all the craziness of life! Please
What do the candles in the Advent Wreath symbolize?
• 1st CANDLE – (purple) THE PROPHECY CANDLE or CANDLE OF HOPE – We can have
hope because God is faithful and will keep the promises made to us. Our hope comes from God.
(Romans 15:12-13)
• 2nd CANDLE – (purple) THE BETHLEHEM CANDLE or THE CANDLE OF PREPARATION
– God kept his promise of a Savior who would be born in Bethlehem. Preparation means to “get
ready”. Help us to be ready to welcome YOU, O GOD! (Luke 3:4-6)
• 3rd CANDLE – (pink) THE SHEPHERD CANDLE or THE CANDLE OF JOY – The angels sang
a message of JOY! (Luke 2:7-15)
• 4th CANDLE – (purple) THE ANGEL CANDLE or THE
CANDLE OF LOVE – The angles announced
the good news of a Savior. God sent his only
Son to earth to save us, because he loves us!
(John 3:16-17)
• 5th CANDLE – (white) “CHRIST CANDLE”
– The white candle reminds us that Jesus
is the spotless lamb of God, sent to wash
away our sins! His birth was for his death,
his death was for our birth! (John 1:29)
