Present Position<br />
Research associate at the Cathie March Centre for Census <strong>and</strong> Survey Research. E-<br />
Stat project: conception of a generic measurement tool of family circumstances <strong>and</strong><br />
their changes over time (pilot study) to enable researchers to triangulate findings on<br />
children’s outcomes across the main large-scale longitudinal studies available the UK,<br />
with Prof. Ian Plewis. Funded under the ESRC’s Digital Social Science Initiative.<br />
Research <strong>and</strong> teaching interests<br />
Sociology of economic behaviour: comparative employment, social policy <strong>and</strong> welfare<br />
states analysis; gender <strong>and</strong> economic inequality; working conditions (including<br />
health-related) <strong>and</strong> job quality; spatial dimension of social inequalities.<br />
Research methods: applied quantitative (longitudinal analysis; multilevel <strong>and</strong> latent<br />
variable modelling) <strong>and</strong> qualitative (action research; interviews, including elite interviews;<br />
focus groups; content analysis).<br />
