We see materialistic persons busily engaged in economic development all day and all night, trying to increase
their material opulence, but even if we suppose that they get some benefit from such endeavors, that do not
solve the real problem of their lives. Nor do they know what the real problem of life is. This is due to a lack of
spiritual education. Especially in the present age, every man is in darkness, in the bodily conception of life, not
knowing anything of the spirit soul and its needs. Misguided by the blind leaders of society, people consider the
body to be everything, and they are engaged in trying to keep the body materially comfortable. Such a
civilization is condemned because it does not lead humanity toward knowing the real goal of life. People are
simply wasting time and the valuable gift of the human form because a human being who does not cultivate
spiritual life but dies like the cats and dogs is degraded in his next life. From human life, such a person is put
into the cycle of continuous birth and death. Thus one loses the true benefit of human life, which is to become
Krishna conscious and solve life's problems. (SB 7.6.5)
Festivals/Camps …..Special
Janmastami Celebrations at RV Engg College VOICE Bangalore (3 rd to 5 th Sept)
With the mercy of Prabhupada and under the
guidance of Vishal Kaushal (a senior Alumni of
VOICE from IIT Kharagpur) we could celebrate
Shri Krishna Janmashtami in a very grand,
organized and magnificent way for a period of 3
days. The elaborate arrangements and decorations
were mostly done by the students. Almost 50 boys
took part in the festival. On the first day we had
Bhajans, Power Point presentations on different
childhood pastimes of Lord Krishna and importance
of Janmastami and Chanting. “On the night of
Janmastami, waiting for Lord Krishna’s appearance
was very special experience” says Archit a first year
student from Basco Engg College Bangalore.
On the second day we had Bhajans, Drama directed
by Sandesh and Chetan on the Appearance of Lord
Krishna and followed by quiz. (On the third day all
the boys participated in the glorification of
Prabhupada. Chetan thrilled after offering flower to
Prabhupada and expressed that “this activity is first
time experience for many of us”. Ravi says
“glorifying a pure devotee of the lord is one of the

important part of devotional service which is an
opportunity to express our gratitude to our grand
spiritual master and imbibe the divine qualities of
the spiritual master”. Special gifts were given to
highest scorers in the quiz.

course “Discover Yourself”.
VOW-VOICE Orientation Workshop for
BVP and SCOE students (15/08/07)
23 First year students from Mayapur VOICE and
GGD VOICE have participated in this workshop.
The highlight of the workshop was H.G.Acharya
Ratna Pr’s presentation on “Power of Association”-
Quoting from the life of Narad Muni- he mentioned
how the hunter like Mrugari‘s life has transformed
when he came in contact with Narada muni. Dhruva
maharaj and Prahlad maharaj also took the benefit
of association of Narada muni and perfected their
lives. It is said a man is recognized by the company
he keeps. Kripashankar a student of first year from
Sinhgad College says, “I am so fortunate to have so
many good friends from VOICE who are excellent
in their academics and lead a life of principles,
values and character, keeping God in the center of
their lives”
H.G.Sundar Chaitnaya Pr spoke on the “Importance
of Vaishnav Seva ”- quoting from the life of Narada
muni how he got the blessings of Bhaktivednatas by
sincerely serving them and perfected his life.
Vaibhav a first year student from Sinhgad College
expressed that “My idea of looking towards
devotees has changed after attending this seminar
and it also helped me in realizing the importance of
Vaishnav seva and so in dealings with other
devotees also”. H.G.Sadayogi Pr speaking on
“Vaishnav Etiquette” emphasized on the basic
principles of etiquette. H.G.Revati Pati Pr spoke on
“Enlightening Code of Conduct “ -Behavior that we
must take care of when we are in the temple hall or
in lecture etc. He also stressed on how the devotees
mood must be in these situations.

H.G.PreamHarinam Pr concluded the workshop by
discussing “How to Respect and Handle Sacred
items and deity paraphernalia”

SANKALP-Yoga Retreat Camp for the
students of Army Institute of Tech. (8 th -9 th
Sept)
The camp started with DYS 5 th session- “substance and
shadow” by H.G.Revatipati Pr where he emphasized on
the difference between the material and spiritual world.
Actually material world is perverted reflection of
spiritual world and the modern man is busy in rat race
forgetting the real aim of life. He also mentioned the aim
life is to go back home back to godhead. DYS 6 th
session- “If god is one then why so many religions” was
conducted by H.G. Vanshi vadan Pr. H.G.Keshavanand
pr speaking on the effect of sound vibrations of “Hare
Krishna Mahamantra” told many wonderful examples of
ordinary material sound effects & difference between
spiritual sound vibration of Hare Krishna Mahamantra
and ordinary sound vibration. By chanting the holy
names one can achieve the highest perfection of life-
Krishna Prema and go back home back to godhead. The
boys had debate competition on “Is youth meant for
enjoyment or enlightenment” and it was monitored by
H.G.Chaitanya Charan pr. He explained the enjoyment
of this world with the analogy of TIME i.e T =
Temporary, I= Illusory, M= miserable, E= Enjoyment
When a person becomes old none of the senses will
co-operate and body also not in a condition either to
go the temple or take darshan of the Lord or honor
Krishna Prasad and death can come at any moment
of life. Therefore youth is the best time to take up to
KC and practice so that at the end we can remember
the Lord and return back to the spiritual world.
Premshankar says” KC is beginning of new life for
me”. 26 students participated in the camp.

With the help of drama of Mrigari, HG BalGovind
pr had a very interactive session on “The Power of
Association”. When a person comes in the
association of devotees all his bad habits and
unwanted attachments will wither away and
actually he will be situated in the mode of
goodness. Mentioning the example of Crazy Peter
to Kushakritha pr, when a person comes in contact
with the devotees, he will be able to recognize the
inner strength and abilities and use in the service of
the lord. He was also telling the strength is in the
association.
In the feedback session students expressed the joy
of having such a wonderful experience of
spirituality and they committed that they are going
intensify the practice of Krsna Consciousness.

Best teacher awards for the
academic year 2006-2007
[2] HG Rasvigrah pr, Dean Academics, VIT
HG Rasvigrah pr (a very senior faculty) has done
Ph.D in Electronics Engineering. He has completed
his BE (E & TC) from COEP Pune. He ranked first
in the merit list in Maharhastra state in PCM group
in 12 th standard. In his ME (E & TC) also he ranked
1 st to the university. Currently he holds the post of
Dean Academic, VIT Pune. He also got Rastriya
Sikshan Ratna award in Dec 2002 for Excellence in
Education. Successively from the last four years he
has been awarded as best teacher of VIT Pune.
He also worked in various designations such as
Head of the Dept, Principal of the college and
Director of a company. He authored more than 5
books in electronics engineering and published
several research publications in international
journals and conferences. He came to Krishna

Consciousness in 1997. He counsels many students
and families in their spiritual life and career as well.
He has been the overall coordinator for Janmastmai
festival from the last three years and is coordinator
for the new upcoming ISKCON temple in Pune.
From the last two years he is looking after
organization of Jagannath Rathayatra & Janmastmai
festival in Kothrud Pune. He holds a weekly
preaching program for corporate peoples in Prabhat
Road and also preaches in Nagar, Bhosari and
Kothrud.
In his words, “VOICE helps us to lead a God
centered life which will bring peace of mind and
happiness in our lives. It not only helps us to
understand the ancient Vedic culture and values and
apply into our lives, but also to carryout material
responsibilities in the most efficient and effective
way”.
[2] HG Krishnakishore pr, Assistant Prof
(Computers), VIT Pune
One of the senior most alumni of VOICE, HG
Krishnakishore pr came in Krishna Consciousness
in 1994. He was the university topper during his
M.E in computers. Initially he worked as Software
Engineer in Patni computers for a period of 1 year.
From the last three years he is working as Asst Prof
in VIT and a crown to that he has been awarded as
best teacher of the institute which is based on the
students feedback for the academic year 2006-07.
Currently he is a Preacher for Giri Govardhan
VOICE near to Sinhgad College of engineering and
he is looking after the sales of VOICE Publications.
He counsels many students in VIT, Sinhgad College
of Engineering and also many corporate youths.
When we approached him after he received the
award, in his words “I have learnt my teaching
skills by hearing seminars/ presentations/ lectures of
VOICE”.
