Motorized Rigging
mOTOrIZED rIGGING
Georgia Stage, Inc. can design, provide and install counterweight systems in new facilities or in existing facilities that may require
some demolition or renovation. We also do maintenance of existing systems, safety inspections and training. Not sure if your stage
can handle a rigging system? Need pricing or information? Contact our sales staff for all your rigging needs.
Many stages supplement their systems with motorized rigging. This is typically a lineshaft winch or some type of drum winch or point
hoist. There is a long list of different uses for motorized rigging, the most common being electric battens. These can be located over
a stage or out in the house over the audience. Motorized rigging allows the user to lower and raise the electric battens, without the
need for fly space or counterweight rigging, to adjust fixtures and change bulbs. Motorized systems are not only found in major
theaters, studios and arenas, but also on cruise ships, colleges and now even high schools.
Recently, new products (PowerLift by JR Clancy) have been introduced with expanded safety and function. Now theaters and
schools have begun to do away with counterweight rigging in favor of a completely motorized system using these new products.
Georgia Stage, Inc. can design, provide and install all types of motorized rigging. If you have questions or want more information on
lineshafts, winches, and PowerLifts, please contact our sales staff.
